Job Summary The Commis 1 Indian Tandoor Curry is responsible for preparing and cooking traditional Indian tandoori dishes and curries to the highest quality standards This role involves working closely with senior chefs to ensure consistent taste presentation and hygiene The position requires a solid understanding of Indian spices cooking methods and kitchen operations Key Responsibilities Tandoor Section Prepare marinades and assist with the skewering of meats seafood and vegetables Operate and maintain the tandoor oven clay oven Cook tandoori items such as naan roti kebabs tikkas and seekh kebabs Monitor food temperatures and ensure items are cooked thoroughly and safely Clean and maintain tandoor tools and equipment Curry Section Prepare base gravies sauces and spice blends as per kitchen recipes Cook vegetarian and non-vegetarian curries following standard procedures Assist in mise en place preparation work for daily kitchen operations Ensure food is prepared and presented consistently with proper taste and texture General Duties Maintain a clean and organized workstation at all times Follow food safety and hygiene practices as per HACCP or local standards Assist in receiving and storing ingredients in a proper manner Work as part of a team to ensure smooth kitchen operations Take feedback and training from senior chefs to improve culinary skills Qualifications and Skills Diploma or certification in Culinary Arts preferred but not mandatory Minimum 1-2 years of experience in Indian tandoor and or curry section Good knowledge of Indian spices ingredients and traditional cooking techniques Ability to handle a tandoor oven and high-temperature cooking Strong attention to detail taste and presentation Good communication skills and team spirit Willingness to learn and grow in a fast-paced kitchen environment Working Conditions Hot and physically demanding kitchen environment Requires standing for long hours and handling hot equipment Shift work including weekends and holidays Job Type Full-time Pay 18 000 00 - 22 000 00 per month Schedule Day shift Work Location In person
