Job Overview

The Buyer is a key role within the purchasing group, responsible for coordinating with operations, planning, and distribution teams to ensure seamless support of supply chain activities, procurement processes, and Foreign Trade Zone (FTZ) operations. This position oversees the administration of goods arriving at and departing from FTZs, ensuring compliance with government rules and regulations. The Buyer serves as a liaison between internal teams, external customers, suppliers, customs officials, and other stakeholders. Additionally, the role provides day-to-day support for the Supply Chain Department, contributing to efficient purchasing operations, maintaining compliance, and driving supply chain effectiveness.

Essential Duties And Responsibilities

Purchasing

- Ensures timely delivery of goods and monitors/maintains open PO's
- Maintain updated information on Purchase Orders
- Onboards and maintains records for new suppliers/vendors in collaboration with the MDM and GBSS teams
- Manages the inventory of packaging material components to prevent stock out situation
- Responsible for supplier relationship management by supporting the Sr Strategic Buyer to schedule and conducts yearly scorecard reviews
- Reviews and monitors accuracy of data on incoming Purchase Orders for release
- Assists in negotiation and procurement of materials, supplies and services at the most favorable terms for the organization
- Conducts research, evaluates findings, and makes recommendations on procurement matters for various departments within the company
- Ensures that all duties assigned are performed in an efficient and responsible manner according to Company policies and procedures
- Maintains assigned queries in ReadSoft to assist Finance in invoice payment
- Administers functions within the Harmony platform for artwork proofing with approved vendors
- Assists Quality in maintaining the Approved Supplier List
- Manages and maintains DocuSign CLM platform for the administration, completion, and maintenance of CDA's and Agreements
- Creates SOP's as required
- Identifies and assists in supporting process improvements within the Procurement Department
- Attend assigned meetings
- Completes all assigned Compliance trainings

Foreign Trade Zone

- Provides administration of arrival and removal of goods from FTZs within government rules and regulations
- Interfaces with internal/external customers, freight forwarders, custom officers and other functional areas to ensures proper customers admission and entry for goods
- Provides day-to-day support for the Supply Chain Department including warehouse operations as needed
- Follows the guidelines for compliance to the CBP regulations 19 CFR 146, CBP's FTZ operating manual, and the Foreign-Trade Zones Board Regulations
- Manages daily inventory reconciliation processes with WMS system against FTZ system and analyze/research/resolve all discrepancies.
- Prepares and submits weekly documents to Customs

Trade Compliance

- Performs ACE Reports
- Coordinates the release of goods with the broker, carrier, CBP, or other governmental agency examinations that may be required Supply Chain/Planning
- Assists manager in ensuring import procedures are in accordance with policies, manuals and relevant local, country, and international laws and processes
- Identifies and assists in supporting process improvements
- Cross trains in other functions to support sustainability of the PCC business

Education And Experience

- Associate degree in Business, Supply Chain Management, or a related field required; bachelor's degree preferred
- Minimum three years experience in purchasing, procurement, or a related field, and/or an equivalent combination of education and experience
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint) with advanced Excel skills
- Demonstrated proficiency with SAP or other enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems
- Solid understanding of supply chain, procurement processes, and inventory management principles
