Job Description

We are seeking a Distribution Modernization Engineer to design and prepare layouts and reports for power distribution projects. The ideal candidate is a proactive problem-solver with a solid understanding of distribution systems and a knack for finding efficient solutions. This role requires technical expertise in distribution design tools and a commitment to quality standards.

Key Responsibilities

- Design and Layout: Prepare detailed layouts, designs, and reports that comply with industry codes, standards, and client requirements.
- Technical Analysis: Analyze and interpret data, conduct reviews of project submissions, and provide clear reports.
- Project Management: Maintain a project diary, record time spent on tasks, and ensure all duties align with the company's Quality Systems Procedures.
- Collaboration: Liaise with staff from various business units, participate in technical meetings with clients, and contribute specialist knowledge to projects.

Required Qualifications

- Education: A Bachelor's degree in Civil or Electrical Engineering.
- Experience: 2-5 years of overall experience, with a minimum of 1 year in power distribution.
- Technical Skills:
- Familiarity with overhead construction methods and distribution system equipment.
- Experience with various distribution design tools and GIS to aid in design.
- Knowledge of easements, right-of-way, and permitting.
- Knowledge of utility telecommunications, distributed energy resource integration, and advanced distribution technologies is a plus.
- Skills: Proven verbal and written communication skills and proficiency in Office software. Must have strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a track record of meeting deadlines. You should be capable of devising new, efficient approaches to problems.
- Flexibility: Willingness to work in different roles for various clients both locally and globally.
