Job Summary:
We are currently hiring for a Modern Trade Manager to take charge of sales partnerships, execution, and performance tracking across leading modern trade outlets. If you know your way around retail shelves, distributor terms, and promotion planning, this could be a strong match.
This role focuses on expanding modern retail presence, negotiating commercial terms, and ensuring the brand doesn't just sit on a shelf but moves consistently. Whether it's a weekend visibility campaign or annual category review with a retail chain, you will be the one shaping those discussions. You'll work closely with the sales, marketing, and supply teams while also tracking what's moving in-store—and what isn't. If phrases like "fill rate," "credit note," or "sell-out activation" don't scare you, you're halfway there already.
Primary Responsibilities:
• Build and manage relationships with key accounts and modern trade retail chains
• Negotiate terms including pricing, promotions, margins, and payment cycles
• Drive product listings and ensure timely planogram updates
• Monitor sales performance by store, region, and category
• Coordinate with logistics and internal teams to manage stock flow and dispatch
• Implement in-store promotions and visibility initiatives in sync with brand campaigns
• Track market trends, competitor activities, and pricing benchmarks
• Ensure timely claim settlements and stock reconciliations with retail partners
• Collaborate with marketing for seasonal launches and retail campaigns
• Conduct regular performance reviews with channel partners
Primary Skills:
• Strong knowledge of modern trade structure and functioning
• Good negotiation and relationship management skills
• Analytical mindset for sales tracking and reporting
• Comfortable with Excel, PPT, and internal CRM tools
• Effective coordination between internal stakeholders and retail teams
• Ability to plan ahead for seasonal demand and launches
• Self-driven, process-oriented, and solution-focused
Qualification:
• Graduate or postgraduate degree in business, marketing, or commerce
• Additional certifications in retail management or sales strategy are useful
Experience:
• 3 to 8 years of experience in modern trade management within FMCG or personal care segments
