Neokred is a FinTech company based in Bangalore and an ISO 9001 | 27001, 27701 & 20000-1 certified firm in Information and Data Security. The company builds Consumer Tech for Financial Infrastructure stack to provide curated versions of embedded banking in the payment ecosystem. We've created a platform which enables Corporates, Banks, FinTechs, Retail Companies, and Start-ups to launch their own banking services or financial products, such as payment solutions, facilitating lending, virtual bank accounts, KYC and digital profiling for their customers or employees with the help of low code plug and play technology stack. BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF THE ROLE: We’re seeking a skilled Legal Counsel to manage the entire contract lifecycle and support all legal operations across Neokred’s business verticals, including banking and payments, data verification and SaaS platforms, consent and privacy technology, voucher and rewards aggregation, and international fintech expansion. Your responsibilities will include ownership of regulatory and law enforcement correspondences, legal interpretation, and collaboration with internal compliance and external counsel to ensure timely and accurate legal actions. Your KRAs will include the following: 1. Contract Lifecycle Management - Draft, review, and negotiate commercial contracts such as MSAs, NDAs, SLAs, vendor agreements, partnership agreements, and consultancy contracts across multiple business lines. - Understand diverse business and revenue models within banking, payments, SaaS, and data-driven technology sectors to ensure legally and commercially aligned documentation. - Maintain contract version control, deviation records, and ensure timely closure and renewals. - Participate in contract-level negotiations with partners, vendors, and clients to protect Neokred’s legal and commercial interests. - Manage the full lifecycle from drafting and execution to amendments and termination. 2. Regulatory and Legal Correspondence - Take full operational ownership for responding to notices, summons, and communications from regulators and law enforcement agencies. - Interpret the scope and implications of each notice, identify required actions, and coordinate with the Risk & Compliance office and external counsel for appropriate filings or responses. - Maintain a centralized tracker of all active and closed legal, regulatory, and law enforcement matters. - Assist or represent Neokred, where required, in hearings, submissions, or clarifications under supervision. 3. Legal Advisory and Compliance Alignment - Provide legal guidance on operations within fintech, payments, data protection, consent management, and cross-border business frameworks. - Work closely with the Risk & Compliance office to ensure organizational policies reflect current regulatory and legal requirements. - Conduct legal risk assessments for vendor and merchant engagements. - Support documentation related to data protection, AML, and regulatory compliance. YOU SHOULD POSSESS: - 5 to 8 years of comprehensive legal experience, along with an LLB from a reputable institution. - 3–4 years of experience in corporate or commercial law, preferably in fintech, payments, SaaS, or technology-led businesses. - Proven skills in contract drafting, negotiation, and legal interpretation. - Familiarity with financial, data, and privacy laws including RBI, NPCI, IT Act, and DPDP/ GDPR frameworks. - Prior exposure to regulatory or law enforcement correspondence preferred. - Strong written English, attention to detail, and ability to manage multiple deliverables simultaneously.
