Some careers shine brighter than others If you re looking for a career that will help you stand out join HSBC and fulfil your potential Whether you want a career that could take you to the top or simply take you in an exciting new direction HSBC offers opportunities support and rewards that will take you further HSBC is one of the largest banking and financial services organisations in the world with operations in 64 countries and territories We aim to be where the growth is enabling businesses to thrive and economies to prosper and ultimately helping people to fulfil their hopes and realise their ambitions We are currently seeking an experienced professional to join our team in the role of Senior System Administrator In this role you will Managing and maintaining Windows servers and SQL servers in internal cloud environment Implementing and managing Active Directory Group Policy and other core Windows services Configuring and maintaining server hardware and software including installations updates and patching Monitoring system performance and resource utilization Troubleshooting and resolving system-related issues Monitoring Blueprism Automation BOTs Developing and implementing automation scripts using tools like PowerShell Installing configuring and maintaining SQL Server instances Managing databases users and permissions Monitoring SQL Server performance and optimizing queries Performing database backups restores and disaster recovery Monitoring security logs and alerts Implementing and managing security tools and technologies Ensuring compliance with security standards and regulations Collaborating with other IT teams such as network administrators and application developers Participating in on-call rotations and responding to after-hours emergencies To be successful in this role you should meet the following requirements Should have In-depth knowledge of Windows Server operating systems 2019 etc 5 years of experience in system administration with a focus on Windows and SQL Server environments Should have Experience with virtualization technologies such as VMware or Hyper-V Should have Familiarity with cloud platforms like AWS or Azure is preferred Should have Strong understanding of networking concepts and protocols Experience with scripting languages like PowerShell is essential Should have Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills Should have Strong communication and interpersonal skills Should have Experience with SQL Server administration including installation configuration and performance tuning Should have Understanding of security principles and best practices Familiarity with ITIL methodologies is a plus You ll achieve more when you join HSBC HSBC is committed to building a culture where all employees are valued respected and opinions count We take pride in providing a workplace that fosters continuous professional development flexible working and opportunities to grow within an inclusive and diverse environment Personal data held by the Bank relating to employment applications will be used in accordance with our Privacy Statement which is available on our website Issued by - HSBC Software Development India
