Position: Principal Network Development Engineer - IC4

Network Design, Implementation, RCA (Root cause analysis), Network automation using Python/Ansible etc., Networking Protocol, BGP, OSPF, Network Operations, Network Infrastructure

Description:

Supports the design, deployment, and operations of a large-scale global Oracle cloud computing environment (Oracle Cloud Infrastructure - OCI). Primarily focused on development and support of network fabric and systems through a combination of a deep level understanding of networking at the protocol level coupled with programming skills to support the intensive automation required to operate a production environment.

1. The role focuses on improving the availability, latency, performance, efficiency, and capacity planning of entire services and ecosystems, with ownership of critical projects and services.
2. The role involves driving operational maturity across the director's organization and managing technology migrations for major components
3. Additionally, responsibilities include organizing incident management procedures, owning and driving projects, and collaborating on cross-team efforts when appropriate
4. As a technical lead on moderately complex projects, the individual will handle project requirements, specifications, and documentation. They will serve as a Tier 2 or specialized escalation point for network events, develop automation scripts for complex tasks, and may take the lead on network automation projects

Qualification:

1. Bachelor's degree in CS or related engineering field with 6+ years of Network Engineering experience or master's with 5+ years of Network Engineering experience
2. Experience working in a large ISP or cloud provider environment
3. Experience in network solution and architecture design process and contribute to the roadmap's development.
4. Extensive experience with scripting or automation and data center design – Python preferred but must demonstrate expertise in scripting or compiled language.
5. Experience working in a network operations role
