Job Description Job Title: Payroll Specialist Location: Kochi, Kerala Role Overview The Payroll Specialist will be responsible for end-to-end payroll administration and statutory compliance for Cavli Wireless employees across India and Global locations. This role requires strong expertise in payroll processing, reconciliations, statutory filings, and handling government audits, as well as coordination with external consultants and auditors. The position also calls for general accounting skills to support Finance operations. Key Responsibilities 1. Payroll Administration - Manage monthly payroll processing, including inputs, calculations, reconciliations, and disbursements. - Ensure accuracy of payroll data, employee records, and benefits computation. - Administer employee reimbursements, full & final settlements, and leave encashments. 2. Statutory Compliance - Ensure timely compliance with statutory requirements including PF, PT, ESIC, TDS, LWF, Bonus Act, Gratuity, and other state-specific laws. - Prepare and file periodic returns and challans within due dates. - Stay updated on changes in labour and tax laws impacting payroll. 3. Withholding Taxes & Benefits Structuring - Administer withholding tax deductions and ensure accurate TDS compliance. - Support in structuring compensation and benefits to balance compliance and tax efficiency. 4. Audits & Government Interactions - Handle responses to labour department queries, government inspections, and payroll-related audits. - Prepare required schedules and documentation for internal and statutory audits. 5. Legacy Payroll & Data Management - Manage payroll data migration, legacy adjustments, and periodic updates in ERP/HRMS. - Maintain complete and secure payroll records for audit and compliance purposes. 6. Finance & Accounting Support - Collaborate with Finance team on payroll reconciliations, provisions, and reporting. - Support month-end and year-end accounting closures relating to payroll and employee costs. - Liaise with external consultants, banks, and auditors for payroll and finance-related matters. Education - Postgraduate in Finance/Commerce OR Semi-qualified CA/CMA. Experience - 810 years of proven experience in payroll administration and general accounting. - Strong knowledge of Indian statutory compliances (PF, PT, ESIC, TDS, LWF, Gratuity, Bonus Act). - Hands-on experience with ERP systems (Oracle, SAP, or equivalent). Skills - Strong analytical and numerical ability with attention to detail. - Proficiency in MS Excel and payroll/accounting tools. - Good understanding of compensation structuring and labour laws. - Excellent communication and coordination skills. - Ability to handle confidential information with integrity. Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) - Accuracy and timeliness of monthly payroll. - Zero non-compliance with statutory requirements. - Timely resolution of employee queries and audit notices. - Effectiveness of payroll reconciliations and accounting closures.
