Chief Engineer

About the Role

We're hiring a Chief Engineer to lead the engineering, commissioning, and operations of our biofuel/biogas facility. You will own the plant from design handover → commissioning → steady operations, ensuring safety, reliability, and top-quartile performance.

Primary Focus (Must-Have)

- Plant Setup (Greenfield/Brownfield): End-to-end commissioning leadership—utilities readiness, pre-start checks, start-up, performance ramp-up, stabilization.
- Technology Verification: Diligence and validation of process technologies/vendors (pilot data review, PFD/P&ID checks, HAZOP actions, FAT/SAT, performance guarantees, energy/mass balance, lifecycle OPEX).

What You'll Do

- Lead daily plant setup and operations to targets (throughput, yield, methane purity, uptime).
- Optimize digestion, gas cleanup/upgrading (H₂S/CO₂ removal), compression, storage/dispensing, and utilities.
- Establish preventive/predictive maintenance (CMMS), run RCAs, and drive reliability (MTBF/MTTR).
- Manage EPCs and contractors; control scope, change, and debottlenecking projects.
- Ensure EHS & statutory compliance; own SOPs, PTW, emergency response, and audit readiness.
- Build and mentor O&M teams (shift engineers, mech/E&I, utilities, QC).
- Own DCS/SCADA KPIs and MIS reporting; drive data-led improvements and cost control.

Qualifications

Must-Have

- Extensive experience leading plant setup/commissioning and operations in biofuel/biogas/CBG or closely related continuous-process industries.
- Proven technology evaluation/verification experience (vendor due diligence, guarantees, trials, acceptance testing).
- Strong troubleshooting across mechanical, electrical & instrumentation (compressors, blowers, agitators, PSA/membrane, analyzers, HT/LT).
- Solid command of EHS, environmental norms, and compliance.
- Demonstrated team leadership, stakeholder management, and crisp communication.
- Bachelor's in Chemical/Mechanical Engineering (or related).

Good-to-Have

- Master's degree; PMP/PRINCE2; RCM/FMEA experience; energy management and cost optimization track record.

Location & Work Mode

On-site at our Bhopal facility; flexibility during start-ups/turnarounds.
