We are looking for Kavach Application Data Test Engineer

The Kavach Application Data Test Engineer will be responsible for testing, validation, and verification of station-specific application data used in Kavach systems. The role requires expertise in application data testing methodologies, familiarity with EN 50128 standards for railway software lifecycle, and the ability to work in simulation and test environments to ensure the accuracy, reliability, and safety of application data before deployment.

- Application Data Testing & Validation: Perform detailed testing of station-specific application data prepared for Kavach deployments.
- Verify application logic, route data, and configuration against project specifications and design documents.
- Validate data consistency, completeness, and correctness using simulation/test tools, ensuring compliance with EN 50128 requirements.
- Test Planning & Execution: Develop and execute test cases, test procedures, and verification plans in alignment with EN 50128 V&V processes.
- Simulate operational and fault scenarios to evaluate system behavior with application data.
- Document results, identify defects, and collaborate with engineering teams to implement corrective actions.
- Integration & System Testing Support: Support integration of application data into laboratory test benches and field test environments.
- Participate in Factory Acceptance Tests (FAT), Site Acceptance Tests (SAT), and field validation trials.
- Ensure application data verification complies with Indian Railways safety standards and EN 50128 V&V obligations.
- Documentation & Reporting: Prepare and maintain detailed test reports, defect logs, and verification records.
- Ensure traceability between requirements, application data, test cases, and test results in line with EN 50128 principles.
- Contribute to process improvements for test automation and structured verification activities.
- Collaboration & Coordination: Work closely with application data preparation and design teams to clarify requirements and resolve issues.
- Coordinate with safety, system engineering, and testing teams for smooth execution of validation activities.
- Provide feedback and recommendations to improve the overall quality and reliability of application data deliverables.

Technical Skills:

- Strong understanding of application data engineering in railway signaling or train control systems.
- Hands-on experience with application data testing, verification, and validation.
- Knowledge of EN 50128 standard (Railway applications - Communication, signalling and processing systems - Software for railway control and protection systems), including V&V processes, traceability, and quality assurance practices.
- Ability to work with simulation tools, test benches, and validation environments.
- Knowledge of railway signaling principles, train control logic, and safety-critical systems.
- Analytical mindset with strong problem-solving and documentation skills.

Desired Skills:

- Bachelor's degree or Diploma in Electronics / Electrical / Computer / Railway Engineering or related field.
- 2-5 years of experience in application data preparation or testing in signaling/train control projects.
- Familiarity with EN 50128 and prior exposure to safety-critical software lifecycle processes.
- Experience with Kavach, ETCS, CBTC, or other train protection systems will be an added advantage.

Additional Requirements

- Willingness to travel for site testing and commissioning support.
- Knowledge of Indian Railway standards, RDSO processes, and safety regulations.
- Strong commitment to safety, reliability, and process compliance in all aspects of work.
