Job Description

We are seeking a results-oriented Asst. Manager - Design for a telecom company in Gurgaon. The ideal candidate will have over 10 years of engineering experience, a strong background in structural and sheet metal design, and proven leadership skills to manage a design team. This role requires technical expertise, project management abilities, and a focus on continuous improvement to drive products from concept to commercialization.

Roles and Responsibilities

Design and Technical Leadership:

- Lead the design of structural and sheet metal components and products like monopoles, plastics, and FRP (Fiber-Reinforced Plastic).
- Apply your understanding of manufacturing processes to ensure designs are practical for production.

Team and People Management:

- Drive a result-oriented and inclusive culture within the team.
- Align the team's work with the organization's purpose, vision, and strategic goals.
- Manage and motivate the team, guiding their career growth and challenging them to excel.
- Identify and develop employees for current and future roles.

Project and Process Management:

- Oversee the entire product lifecycle, from converting customer requirements into conceptual designs to commercialization.
- Drive continuous improvement (6 Sigma Sponsor) to enhance efficiency and product quality.
- Ensure the team meets all product commitments, including time, quality, and cost, by actively monitoring goals and metrics.

Stakeholder Collaboration:

- Use strong communication skills to engage with both internal and external customers.
- Manage and coordinate BOM (Bill of Materials) and design management.

Skills Required

- Education: A B.E. / B.Tech. degree is required.
- Experience: A minimum of 10+ years of relevant engineering work experience, including leadership experience.
- Technical: Expertise in design for structural and sheet metal components. Proficiency in Solid Works/Solid Edge is mandatory.
- Specialized Knowledge: A deep understanding of CAD/CAM and engineering principles. Experience in system design and project management.
- Soft Skills: Excellent communication skills, a knack for people management, and the ability to foster a collaborative and high-performing team environment.
