Role Manager - English Editor Location Mumbai Experience 5 years Salary 7 2L onwards Travel AllowancesAbout Arpan Arpan is a globally recognized award-winning NGO working towards eliminating Child Sexual Abuse CSA in India Based in Mumbai with a team of over 150 dedicated professionals Arpan is Indias largest NGO providing CSA Prevention and Intervention services for both children and adults As a critical stakeholder for state and non-state actors Arpan is a leading voice in the space of CSA Prevention and Intervention in India and uses advocacy and research to push for policy and systemic change at the local state and national levels Since inception Arpan has impacted over 18 3 million children and adults and has received 8 National and 2 International Awards including the WISE Award and the C Henry Kempe AwardKey Objectives Strive to elevate the quality of content by setting and maintaining higher editorial standards This involves reviewing and updating editorial guidelines implementing rigorous editing processes and ensuring that all content meets the highest levels of accuracy clarity and relevance To mentor a team of editor s and build a robust process driven team for editing and vetting the content and also significantly increase the speed of turnaround in content creation Major DeliverablesThe major responsibilities are to Edit proofread and review English content while maintaining meaning and context keeping end users in mind Review and edit written content check for grammar accuracy ensuring proper sentence structure for clarity and consistency correct factual information and improve overall readability Work closely with content creators writers to ensure that the formatting of documents presentations and spreadsheets meet organisations established style guidelines and standards Refine content while maintaining a consistent tone of voice style and language to maintain uniformity and alignment with the content writers style Rewrite the content if required in tangent with the content writer to ensure the content communicates its message to the reader Collaborate and communicate with multiple teams to keep them abreast involved and informed on changes and development in any content during its development phase Mentor and build a robust team of editor s who will edit review and proofread documents effectively without losing its essence Proofread text and edit text at various stages of the writing process and in response to feedback from writers or creative directors Keep abreast of trends in content and style reflected on various popular social media channels Ability to give constructive feedback Ability to remain detail-oriented and focused when processing large amounts of text Willingness to collaborate with a creative team of content writers graphic designers and others Job Challenge Edit review documents of multiple styles formats simultaneously Adhere to timelines while meeting the needs of multiple teams in a fast-paced environment Understand and consistently reflect the brand voice of the organisation in all writing styles Specialized job competencies Excellent written and verbal communication skills in the English language Mastery of spelling grammar and punctuation and ability to make constructive suggestions Adherence to organisations style guide Proficient with research skills Basic knowledge of legal issues involved in publishing such as libel and plagiarism UK English spelling and punctuation conventions Educational Qualification Post-Graduation in English Journalism Mass Media Strong computer processing skills especially G-Suite and Microsoft Office Grammarly AI Other desired attributes Prior experience of working in an NGO not compulsory Good listening and inter-personal skills Commitment to time schedules meticulous passionate Should be a stickler for details and process adherence Experience in writing content for various domains -Hiring Note Applications will be reviewed on rolling basis This job is first posted on Sept 10 2024 onFor any questions ping us on WhatsApp helpline 8058331557
