Obstetrics and Gynaecologist

The Obstetrician-Gynecologist (OBGYN) provides comprehensive healthcare services related to women’s reproductive health, pregnancy, and childbirth. The role includes managing a wide range of gynecological issues, prenatal care, labor, delivery, and postnatal care, while addressing women’s health issues such as menstrual problems, menopause, and fertility.
1. Patient Care
- Provide comprehensive care to women during pregnancy, labor, delivery, and the postpartum period.
- Perform gynecological exams, including Pap smears, breast exams, and pelvic exams.
- Diagnose and treat disorders related to the female reproductive system (e.g., menstrual disorders, infections, endometriosis).
- Offer counseling and support for family planning, contraception, infertility treatments, and sexual health.
2. Surgical Responsibilities
- Perform surgeries such as Cesarean sections, hysterectomies, laparoscopies, and other gynecological procedures.
- Provide surgical management of ectopic pregnancies, ovarian cysts, and other conditions.
- Collaborate with anesthesiologists, surgical teams, and other healthcare professionals during procedures.
3. Prenatal and Postnatal Care
- Monitor the health of pregnant women and the development of their unborn babies through regular prenatal checkups.
- Manage high-risk pregnancies and medical complications like preeclampsia, gestational diabetes, and multiple gestations.
- Provide postpartum care, including follow-up exams and breastfeeding support.
4. Emergency Care
- Provide urgent care for obstetric emergencies, including complications during pregnancy, labor, and delivery.
- Manage emergency gynecological issues such as ectopic pregnancies, miscarriage, or hemorrhage.
5. Education and Counseling
- Educate patients on women’s health issues, preventive care, and healthy lifestyle choices.
- Provide counseling on fertility, menopause, pregnancy options, and reproductive health.
6. Collaboration and Teamwork
- Collaborate with other healthcare providers, including midwives, family physicians, nurses, and pediatricians, to ensure comprehensive patient care.
- Participate in case discussions, interdisciplinary meetings, and quality improvement initiatives.
7. Documentation and Compliance
- Maintain accurate and complete medical records of patients’ histories, diagnoses, treatment plans, and follow-up care.
- Ensure compliance with hospital, state, and federal healthcare regulations and protocols.
- Stay updated on current best practices and advancements in obstetrics and gynecology.
Pay: ₹150,000.00 - ₹200,000.00 per month
