Position - Commis I
Reports to - Chef De Cuisine
Education - High school education is mandatory, diploma in culinary is
beneficial. Basic familiarity with inventory systems.
Pre-requisites - Previous Catering industry experience of up to 5 years
working as ‘Commis I’ in a well reputed stand-alone restaurant or a 5 Star
hotel.
Duties and Responsibilities:
1. As a Commis I, you are also expected to comply with the conditions of
the food hygiene policies.
2. Assist management in hiring, training, scheduling, evaluating,
counselling, motivating and coaching employees to serve as a role
model.
3. Accepting & requisitioning store deliveries.
4. Should be ready to travel and willing to work in other outlets of the
company based on business requirements.
5. Coordinate and participate with other sections of the kitchen in terms of
cleanliness, wastage and cost control.
6. Control food stock and food cost in his own section.
7. Prepare food Mise-en-place and prepare top-quality menu items in a
timely manner.
8. Communicate assistance needed during busy periods.
9. Commis I Chef are also required to ensure that all food stocks are well
maintained and stored hygienically.
10. Ensure that highest quality of the food items are prepared

12. Ensure the highest standards and consistent quality in the daily
preparation and keep up to date with the new products, recipes and
preparation techniques.
13. Ensure and prepare Mise en place for banquets and restaurant buffets
as per the F.P
14. Ensure the proper sanitation and cleanliness of surfaces and storage
containers.
15. Ensure constant innovation in menu preparation and presentation.
16. Follow and maintain cleanliness and good hygiene practices in the
kitchen.
17. Inform Chef of excess food items for use in daily specials.
18. Keep work area at all times in hygienic conditions according to the
rules set by management
19. Monitor the quality and quantity of food that is prepared.
20. Operate kitchen equipment safely and responsibly.
21. Prepare the daily Mise en place and food production in different
sections of the main pantry or satellite kitchens.
22. Prepare and cook food according to recipes, quality standards,
presentation standards, and food preparation checklist.
23. Responsible to maintain different logs and procedures set by
management.
24. Support other members of the team in the daily operation.
25. Taste prepared food to ensure proper preparation and temperature.
26. To be present in the assigned kitchen as and when required and also
an internal transfer after 2-3 months in others as per management
Pay: ₹15,000.00 - ₹18,000.00 per month
