**Roles and Responsibilities**:
**1. Menu Planning and Development**:
- Collaborate with the head chef and other sous chefs to plan and create new dishes.
- Contribute to menu development by suggesting new recipes, techniques, and ingredients.
**2. Food Preparation and Cooking**:
- Oversee the preparation, cooking, and presentation of dishes.
- Ensure that all dishes are prepared according to the restaurant’s standards and recipes.
- Monitor portion control and maintain consistency in taste and presentation.
**3. Kitchen Management**:
- Assist in managing kitchen staff, including chefs, cooks, and kitchen assistants.
- Supervise and coordinate kitchen activities during shifts.
- Train and mentor junior kitchen staff members.
**4. Quality Control**:
- Maintain high standards of food quality, hygiene, and safety.
- Conduct regular inspections of the kitchen and equipment to ensure cleanliness and functionality.
- Monitor and manage food wastage to control costs.
**5. Ordering and Inventory Management**:
- Assist in managing inventory and ordering supplies as needed.
- Keep track of stock levels and rotate stock to ensure freshness.
- Collaborate with the head chef to optimize ingredient costs and minimize waste.
**6. Team Collaboration**:
- Work closely with other chefs and kitchen staff to create a positive and efficient work environment.
- Communicate effectively with the front-of-house staff to ensure smooth service and customer satisfaction.
A Junior Sous Chef plays a crucial role in the kitchen hierarchy, acting as a bridge between the kitchen staff and the senior management. They need to have excellent culinary skills, organizational abilities, and leadership qualities to excel in this role.
**Salary**: ₹25,000.00 - ₹35,000.00 per month
