Job Role & Responsilbilities

1. Taking Hospital rounds. Ensuring the house-keeping and the staff are well groomed, in uniform and are on their respective floors.

2. Ensure discipline, attire and Etiquette of the staff.

3. To forecast and plan absenteeism due to festivals.

4. Create awareness and train all housekeeping staff regarding methods and the specification and to inform them of any changes in routines work.

5. Communicate the corrective action to the patient and visitor on completing the service request addressing the complain.

6. Ensure safety, secure and pleasing environment for occupants, visitors, and service users.

7. Brief all staff regarding their duties, designed area and special instruction if any.

8. Any absentees on any shift should be reported next day morning with reason for unauthorised absenteeism.

9. Surprise checks.

10. Make Duty charts for all categories ward boys, ward girls, janitors and supervise. Maintain Daily staff deployment shift wise.

11. Monitor stock of all the cleaning agents and indent the stock as decided required

12. Monitor stock of garbage bags (Bio Medical Waste) and order according to the requirement on a monthly basis.

13. Ensure that Bio Medical Waste is taken and coordinated on daily basis in coordination with infection control assistants & Keep a check of the general waste garbage that is taken by the BMC and daily maintain records for the same.

14. Taking a through round in all the departments, Hostel, compound and patient areas and ensure every corner is clean & tidy. Try & see if the equipments are working condition and plan extra cleaning as and when required.

15. Plan Extra cleaning work in lap over i.e. 0200 pm to 0400 pm

16. Cleaning of urine pot Bed Pan, Sputum mug once in week of each floor once in a week of each floor i.e. every Saturday or as per the schedules of cleaning.

17. Take Weekly Training of the H/K staff on cleaning material & Patient care

18. Maintain transport of patient data and material movement from patient areas through porter ,post the porter working hours must do the transportation and material movement.

19. See that Casualty is deep clean as per the schedule.

20. Maintain Curtain Change data room vies,

21. Maintain pest control records and fogging data and check the schedule of all pest control activities

22. Report Needle stick injury to Infection Control nurse.

23. Maintain healthy relation with duty nursing staff.

24. Plan passages and open area scrubbing fortnightly.

25. Keep a record of bills of all the materials required on a monthly basis.

26. Ensure multiple rounds during the night rounds of all areas in the hospital and supervise the patient floors and OT for smooth functioning for the next day

27. Maintain if any extra linen record of patient and relatives issued during off hours of laundry dept. and handover the records the next day to laundry dept as per the requirements.

28. All checklists to be maintained as per the SOP and maintain records for the same.
