**ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES**
- The Scrum Master helps the Product Owner.
- Identify and coach on techniques for effective Product Backlog management
- Helps the Scrum Team understand the need for clear product backlog items
- Promotes understanding of product planning in an empirical environment
- Ensures the Product Owner knows how to arrange the Product Backlog to maximize value
- Guides and assists Product Owner with entering user stories in JIRA
- The Scrum Master helps the Development Team
- Coach the Development Team in self-organization, cross-functionality and continuous improvement
- Remove impediments to the Development Team’s progress
- Facilitate Scrum events as requested or as needed
- Coach the Development Team in organizational environments in which Scrum is not yet fully adopted and understood
- Protect the team by making sure they do not over commit themselves or get into complacency mindset
- Setup of Rational Project Area (ie., product backlog, timelines, sprint backlogs, etc.)
- The Scrum Master helps the Organization
- Help employees and stakeholders understand and enact Scrum and empirical product development
- Lead and coach the organization in its Scrum adoption
- Plan Scrum implementations within the organization
