Overview
Under general direction, conducts HR policy and governance activities such as those related to employee separation and career transitions ensuring that HR programs adhere to legal and regulatory standards and are conducted in accordance with approved BNY Mellon procedures. Provides on-sight support/guidance to SUB team. Performs related analyses, gathers and synthesizes information/data and coordinates program implementation. Completes assigned activities. Prepares program documentation, conducts tabulations, gathers/organizes data, and tracks/monitors day-to-day separation and career transition activities,,, assists with guidance, indirect supervision and on the job training to lower level staff. May escalate more complex issues. Informs and guides team on employee separation and career transition strategies and best practices, legal requirements and company protocols, and the responsibilities of relevant parties. Monitors adherence to employee separation and career transition protocols for the assigned HR area and identifies areas for improvement. Prepares and delivers separation packages specific to the individual situation of each employee. Supports and guides employees identified for separation, ensuring they understand the details of their package and what services and resources are available to them upon separation. Ensures all relevant paperwork and processing activities are initiated and executed, coordinating with Legal, Payroll, HR Operations or other stakeholders as necessary. Serves as a liaison for HR Business Partners on separation related request and guides their separation related activities to ensure compliance with legal and company protocols and reduce risk. May support policy development initiatives or contribute to ensuring adherence to prescribed policies as needed. Tasks include contributing to the formulation and documentation of policies. Serves as backup and is prepared to assist peers performing policy work. No direct reports, but serves as on-sight supervisor. Provides guidance to less experienced team members as needed. Bachelor‘s degree or the equivalent combination of education and experience is required. 3-5 years of total work experience preferred. Experience in HR Operations, or as an HR Generalist preferred..
