As a Sous Chef, you will play a pivotal role in assisting the Executive Chef in overseeing the culinary operations of the kitchen. **Responsibilities**:

- Collaborate closely with the Executive Chef in menu planning, recipe development, and kitchen operations management.
- Oversee the preparation, cooking, and presentation of dishes, ensuring they meet quality and visual standards.
- Lead and manage the kitchen staff, including assigning tasks, monitoring performance, and providing guidance.
- Train and mentor kitchen staff, ensuring they understand and adhere to culinary techniques, safety protocols, and hygiene standards.
- Assist in inventory management, including ordering, receiving, and maintaining supplies and ingredients.
- Monitor food costs and wastage, making adjustments to optimize profitability.
- Execute and manage food preparation during busy periods, ensuring smooth service and timely delivery of dishes.
- Collaborate with other departments, such as front-of-house staff, to ensure seamless communication and customer satisfaction.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization in the kitchen area, following food safety and sanitation regulations.
- Handle and resolve kitchen-related issues and conflicts as they arise.
- Stay updated with industry trends, culinary techniques, and emerging ingredients.
- Assist in the creation of daily specials, seasonal menus, and special event menus.
- Support the Executive Chef in administrative tasks, such as scheduling, reporting, and budgeting.
- Assume the responsibilities of the Executive Chef in their absence.

**Qualifications**:

- Culinary degree or relevant culinary certification is preferred.
- Proven experience as a Sous Chef or in a similar leadership role in a high-volume kitchen.
- Strong knowledge of culinary techniques, ingredients, and presentation.
- Leadership skills and the ability to inspire and motivate kitchen staff.
- Effective communication and teamwork skills.
- Creativity and the ability to contribute to menu development and innovation.
- Strong problem-solving abilities and the capacity to work under pressure.
- Knowledge of food safety and sanitation regulations.

**Physical Requirements**:

- Ability to stand for extended periods.
- Ability to lift heavy pots, pans, and trays.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced and demanding kitchen environment.
