Madras Magic is seeking a dedicated and reliable individual to join our kitchen team as a Cook/Kitchen Hand. This role plays a crucial part in ensuring the smooth operation of our kitchen by assisting with food preparation, cooking, and maintaining cleanliness and organization in the kitchen area.

**Key Responsibilities**:

- Assist chefs with food preparation tasks, including washing, peeling, cutting, and chopping ingredients.
- Support cooks in cooking and assembling dishes according to established recipes and standards.
- Operate kitchen equipment such as grills, fryers, and stoves under the supervision of senior kitchen staff.
- Maintain cleanliness and sanitation standards in the kitchen, including washing dishes, utensils, and cooking equipment.
- Ensure proper storage and rotation of food items to minimize waste and maintain freshness.
- Follow food safety procedures and guidelines to ensure the safety and quality of food served.
- Assist with inventory management, including stocktaking and restocking of ingredients and supplies.
- Collaborate with other kitchen staff to ensure timely preparation and delivery of orders.
- Adhere to all kitchen policies and procedures, including health and safety regulations.
- Embrace opportunities for learning and skill development to grow within the culinary field.

**Requirements**:

- Previous experience in a kitchen environment preferred but not required.
- Basic understanding of food safety and hygiene practices.
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong attention to detail and willingness to learn.
- Ability to work well as part of a team and follow instructions from senior kitchen staff.
- Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
- Physical stamina and dexterity to perform kitchen tasks such as lifting, bending, and standing for extended periods.
