Communication and Documentation Officer

We are seeking a Communications and Documentation Officer based in New Delhi for our USAID-funded RISE project. This role combines the responsibilities of managing project communications, documentation, and knowledge management efforts. The officer will play a pivotal role in designing and executing communication strategies, managing project documentation, and implementing a robust knowledge management framework. This position requires a creative, strategic, and detail-oriented individual who can translate complex health and scientific concepts into accessible content and effectively manage information flow within the project. The position will report to the Deputy Chief of Party (CoP).
**Responsibilities**:
- **Strategic Communication and Knowledge Management**:
- Formulate and implement comprehensive communication and knowledge management strategies aligned with project objectives.
- Identify key knowledge gaps, bottlenecks, and opportunities, and develop targeted solutions.
- ** Content Development and Documentation**:
- Craft compelling narratives that translate intricate health and scientific concepts into engaging, accessible content.
- Meticulously compile and organize project documents, including reports, guidelines, research findings, and technical briefs.
- Develop advanced knowledge resources such as research briefs, policy papers, and thought leadership pieces.
- ** Digital Engagement and Media Management**:
- Curate and oversee dynamic content across digital platforms, orchestrating a captivating online presence.
- Foster robust relationships with media outlets and journalists to secure extensive coverage of project events and initiatives.
- Maintain a meticulously organized digital database, ensuring secure storage and swift retrieval of project documents.
- ** Knowledge Sharing and Capacity Building**:
- Institutionalize knowledge-sharing best practices throughout the project lifecycle, ensuring continuity beyond the project duration.
- Design and facilitate capacity-building initiatives, training project staff on advanced knowledge management concepts and techniques.
- Develop concise summaries, fact sheets, and presentations for effective sharing of project impact.
- ** Performance Monitoring and Reporting**:
- Establish metrics and methodologies to assess the impact of communication and knowledge-sharing efforts on project outcomes.
- Contribute to the creation of regular progress reports synthesizing insights from diverse project components.
- ** Quality Assurance and Data Security**:
- Conduct thorough document reviews to ensure precision, clarity, and alignment with established guidelines.
- Establish robust protocols for document archiving, ensuring data security and enduring accessibility.
- ** Miscellaneous**
- Any tasks assigned by the supervisor or the head of the department of the Center for One Health**.**
Required Qualifications:
**Qualifications/Skills/Experience**:
- Master’s degree in communications, public relations, journalism, information science, public health, or a related field is preferred. A bachelor’s degree with significant experience will also be considered.
- 3-5 years of experience in communications, public relations, strategic knowledge management, or information dissemination, ideally within the public health or development sector.
- Demonstrated ability to develop and execute strategies aligned with organizational objectives.
- Proficiency in digital content creation tools, social media platforms, and document formatting software including Microsoft Office Suite.
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with an emphasis on synthesizing complex information into clear, engaging narratives.
- Proven experience in collaborating with diverse teams and stakeholders, and influencing strategic decisions.
- Strong analytical skills to interpret data and drive evidence-based strategies.
- Familiarity with the Indian public health system, newer initiatives in the health sector, and relevant government policies/strategies, particularly the National Health Mission and Ayushman Bharat.
