You work under the direct supervision of more experienced chefs and are responsible for assisting in various kitchen tasks, food preparation, and cooking.
**Job Title: Commis I**
**Job Summary**:
Your role will be the initial role in the kitchen brigade, responsible for assisting with food preparation and basic cooking tasks. You work closely with senior chefs to learn culinary techniques, follow recipes, and maintain a clean and organized kitchen environment.
**Key Responsibilities**:
1. Food Preparation:
- Assist in the preparation of ingredients, including washing, peeling, chopping, and portioning.
- Measure and weigh ingredients accurately according to recipes.
- Prepare ingredients for various dishes.
- Assisting CDP on measuring the meal ingredients to prepare the order.
2. Cooking and Assembly:
- Under supervision, assist in cooking and assembling dishes, following established recipes.
- Operate kitchen equipment such as stovetops, ovens, grills, and fryers under guidance.
- Monitor cooking times and temperatures as directed.
- Plating & Presenting meal as per the chef instruction.
3. Station Organization:
- Maintain a clean and organized workstation, practicing the "clean as you go" principle.
- Keep ingredients and supplies well-stocked and easily accessible during service.
- Properly label, date, and store food items to prevent spoilage.
- Segregate the raw materials or groceries as per the date/type and use.
4. Quality Control:
- Follow recipes and instructions carefully to ensure the consistent quality of dishes.
- Work with senior chefs to ensure each dish meets the required standards.
- Seek feedback and guidance to improve cooking skills.
- Keep a track of product expiry date.
- Note the Allergic Factor and mention it.
5. Safety and Hygiene:
- Adhere to strict food safety and sanitation guidelines to ensure the safety of guests and kitchen staff.
- Handle kitchen tools, equipment, and ingredients safely and responsibly.
- Report any equipment malfunctions or safety hazards to senior chefs.
6. Team Collaboration:
- Collaborate effectively with other kitchen staff, chefs, and sous chefs.
- Communicate clearly and follow instructions from higher-ranking chefs.
7. Learning and Development:
- Actively learn and develop culinary skills and knowledge under the guidance of senior chefs.
- Take advantage of opportunities to gain experience in various cooking techniques and cuisines.
**Qualifications**:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Culinary education or training from a culinary school or apprenticeship is a plus.
- Some experience or familiarity with kitchen operations is beneficial.
- Basic understanding of culinary techniques, food safety, and kitchen hygiene.
- Ability to follow instructions accurately and work as part of a team.
- Physical stamina, the ability to stand for extended periods, and the capability to lift moderate weights.
**Working Conditions**:
- Fast-paced and demanding kitchen environment.
- Irregular hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
- Exposure to heat, steam, and kitchen noise.
- Working Hours - 9 Hours a day (Including Lunch & Tea Break)

**Salary**: ₹20,000.00 - ₹25,000.00 per month
