Bag Designer and Merchandiser

Responsible for entire product design process including market research, mood board creation, designing, sketching, specing and fit in collaboration with the R&D team.
- Actively participate towards the generation of new ideas and conceptual development of innovative and directional product lines that align with the brand's aesthetic and target market.
- Provides recommendations regarding seasonal themes, edits to line, new concepts, etc.
- Ensures that product is consistent with market trends/fashion trends as well as business strategy. Conduct market research and interprets international/domestic concepts while relating to market demands, company image, business strategy and consumer preferences.
- Translate concepts into detailed sketches or digital renderings, considering factors such as functionality, aesthetics, and marketability.
- Source and select appropriate materials for each bag design, considering factors such as durability, texture, colour, and cost.
- Provides insight regarding style of product during presentation and recommend new tools and technologies by staying abreast of the latest trends and techniques
- Create hardware designs and specs.
- Create Technical Packages for factories and Development Teams for initial lead constructions, 1st prototypes and 2nd prototypes
- Collaborate with suppliers to ensure the availability of high-quality materials that meet design specifications.
- Create prototypes or samples of new bag designs to assess their appearance, functionality, and feasibility.
- Make adjustments to designs as necessary based on feedback from stakeholders, including design teams, manufacturers, and potential customers.
- Develop detailed technical specifications for each bag design, including measurements, materials, construction techniques, and hardware specifications. Ensure that technical specifications are communicated clearly to manufacturers to facilitate production.
- Work closely with cross-functional teams to bring bag designs to life. Maintain open communication channels to address any design or production issues that may arise during the development process.
- Conduct quality inspections of finished bag samples to ensure they meet design specifications and quality standards.
- Represent the brand and its design ethos through innovative and marketable bag designs.
- Maintain brand consistency across all product lines while continuously pushing creative boundaries to differentiate the brand in the competitive fashion market.
- Maintain a portfolio of past and current bag designs to showcase to clients, retailers, and industry professionals. Continuously update the portfolio with new designs and collaborations to demonstrate creativity and versatility as a bag fashion designer while discussing with prospective clients.
- Responsible for researching ideas of new leather/fabric development
- Lead and attend key meetings with Merchants, Product Development, Planning, and Sourcing and travel as outlined in the development process calendar.
- Identifies opportunities for process improvements.
Pay: ₹500,000.00 - ₹1,000,000.00 per year
