Analyst - Software Asset Management (SAM)

Our Technology Planning and Governance team is looking for a Software Asset Management Analyst to oversee the Software Asset Management lifecycle including defining and refining the Software Asset Management process, software requests, license pooling/checks, deployment and retirement. This role combines the desire to manage the operational IT business functions with the ability to adapt quickly to new opportunities to drive maximum sustainability for the entire organization.

Essential Functions

  • Oversee the Software License Management processes and procedures
  • Manage the lifecycle of software assets to include licenses, contracts, software licensing agreements, software inventory management, supporting license usage and modeling.
  • Identify opportunities for cost savings and optimization.
  • Conduct internal software audits for licensing across endpoints and server environments to ensure compliance with licensing agreements.
  • Plan, monitor, and track software licenses to ensure compliance with vendor contracts
  • Create and maintain software asset management dashboard and metrics to provide a summary to the leadership team.
  • Work with finance and vendor management functions to review software expenses, and vendor purchase agreements

You will need this to be successful

  • 2-6 years experience in Software Asset Management role
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Experience with Software asset tracking and auditing
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams around the globe to ensure accurate and up-to-date software inventory
  • Self-starter that can work under pressure
  • Familiar with asset management tools
  • Excellent analytical and critical thinking skills with strong attention to detail
  • ITIL/ITSM Knowledge is preferred

Qualifications:

Bachelors degree in computer science, information technology, business management or a related field
