Role Description We are seeking a highly skilled Freelance Postgre SQL Database Administrator (DBA) with strong expertise in Postgre SQL, Cloud SQL (My SQL), and advanced SQL performance tuning.

This is a remote, long-term contract position, requiring deep knowledge of database architecture, high availability, and optimization in enterprise environments.

Responsibilities: Install, configure, and maintain Postgre SQL and Cloud SQL (My SQL) databases.

Perform advanced SQL performance tuning, query optimization, and schema design.

Manage database upgrades, migrations, patching, and version control.

Implement and monitor replication, clustering, and failover solutions for high availability.

Ensure database security, compliance, integrity, and backup/recovery strategies.

Collaborate with development teams to optimize SQL queries and improve database architecture.

Troubleshoot and resolve database issues, providing on-call support for critical systems.

Create and maintain comprehensive documentation including standards, procedures, and architecture diagrams.

Required Skills & Qualifications:5+ years of hands-on DBA experience with Postgre SQL (installation, configuration, replication, backup/recovery, tuning).

Strong expertise with Cloud SQL (My SQL) and advanced SQL performance tuning.

Solid background in Oracle DBA (RAC, Data Guard, RMAN, performance tuning).

Proficiency in writing and optimizing complex SQL queries.

Strong knowledge of Linux/Unix operating systems for database administration.

Familiarity with cloud environments (AWS, Azure, GCP).

Strong problem-solving, troubleshooting, and communication skills.

Nice to Have: Experience migrating from SQL to Postgre SQL.

Knowledge of database monitoring tools and observability solutions.
