Your Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Head of Assortment Selection & Design to lead our efforts in curating and managing our product assortment. This role is critical in developing frameworks for new assortment additions and rationalization, maintaining store and warehouse capacity, and designing selection strategies. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in merchandising, product selection, and inventory management in an ecommerce environment.

Key Responsibilities:

New Assortment Addition and Impression Framework:

  • Develop and implement a framework for adding new products to our assortment, ensuring they align with market trends and customer preferences.
  • Collaborate with category managers and buying teams to identify potential new products and categories.
  • Establish criteria for product selection to enhance the overall assortment and drive customer engagement.

New Assortment Rationalization Framework:

  • Create and manage a rationalization framework to evaluate and streamline existing product assortments.
  • Analyze sales data, customer feedback, and market trends to identify underperforming products.
  • Make data-driven decisions to remove or replace products to optimize the assortment and improve profitability.

Maintain Guardrail of Store and Warehouse Capacity:

  • Monitor and manage store and warehouse capacity to ensure optimal inventory levels.
  • Work closely with supply chain and logistics teams to balance inventory levels and avoid overstock or stockouts.
  • Implement strategies to maximize space utilization in stores and warehouses without compromising on product availability.

Selection Design:

  • Design and implement selection strategies that align with overall business objectives and customer needs.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including marketing, merchandising, and operations, to ensure cohesive execution of selection plans.
  • Continuously refine selection criteria and processes based on performance metrics and market insights.

Data Analysis and Reporting:

  • Utilize data analytics tools to monitor the performance of product assortments and selection strategies.
  • Generate reports on key performance indicators (KPIs) and provide actionable insights to senior leadership and other stakeholders.
  • Continuously optimize assortment strategies based on data-driven insights and market trends.


What We’re Looking For

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Merchandising, Supply Chain, or a related field; MBA preferred.
  • 5+ years of experience in merchandising, product selection, or inventory management
  • Proven success in driving product assortment strategies and achieving financial targets in an ecommerce environment.
  • Strong analytical and quantitative skills, with the ability to make data-driven decisions.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Strategic thinker with the ability to execute and deliver results.
  • Strong project management and organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • Proficiency in using merchandising and inventory management software and tools.
  • Strong bias for action. Ability to work under pressure and deliver tangible business impact in time-critical situations
