Job Description: Assistant Professor – Finance

Pune Institute of Business Management (PIBM), Pune

Position: Assistant Professor – Finance

Specialization: Financial Modeling, Equity Research, Commercial Credit, Investment Banking

Location: Pune, Maharashtra

Qualification Required:

  • CFA (Chartered Financial Analyst) or CA (Chartered Accountant) (Mandatory)
  • Ph.D. or Master's in Finance, Economics, or related field (Preferred)

Key Responsibilities:

1. Teaching & Curriculum Development:

  • Deliver lectures and practical sessions on Financial Modeling, Equity Research, Commercial Credit, and Investment Banking .
  • Develop course content that aligns with industry trends and financial market dynamics.
  • Use real-world case studies, financial databases (Bloomberg, Reuters, etc.), and simulation tools in teaching.
  • Guide students in research projects, financial case analysis, and dissertation work.

2. Research & Publications:

  • Conduct high-quality research in finance and publish in peer-reviewed journals.
  • Supervise student research projects related to financial markets, investment strategies, and credit risk analysis .
  • Develop white papers and reports on emerging trends in finance.

3. Industry Collaboration & Consulting:

  • Establish partnerships with investment banks, financial institutions, and fintech firms for industry projects.
  • Provide consultancy services on equity valuation, commercial lending, and risk assessment.
  • Stay updated with regulatory changes and integrate them into the curriculum.

4. Academic Administration & Institutional Development:

  • Participate in curriculum design, program accreditation, and faculty development initiatives.
  • Assist in organizing finance conclaves, investment workshops, and corporate training programs .
  • Engage in institutional events, conferences, and training sessions for students.

5. Student Mentorship & Career Guidance:

  • Mentor students aspiring for careers in investment banking, equity research, and credit analysis .
  • Support students in finance-related competitions, CFA exam preparation, and internship placements.
  • Conduct career workshops on financial modeling, credit assessment, and valuation techniques.

Required Skills & Expertise:

  • Strong knowledge of financial statement analysis, DCF valuation, credit risk modeling, and investment strategies .
  • Proficiency in Excel-based financial modeling, VBA, Python (preferred), and financial databases like Bloomberg, Capital IQ, and Reuters .
  • Hands-on experience in Mergers & Acquisitions, Private Equity, and Debt Structuring is a plus.
  • Excellent communication, analytical, and research skills.

Experience Required:

  • Minimum 3 years of experience in teaching, investment banking, equity research, or corporate finance .
  • Prior experience in guiding student projects and financial market research is preferred.
