Job Description: Assistant Professor – Business Analytics

Pune Institute of Business Management (PIBM), Pune

Position: Assistant Professor – Business Analytics

Specialization: Machine Learning, Deep Learning, Python, R, Data Statistics

Location: Pune, Maharashtra

Qualification Required:

  • M.Tech in Computer Science, Data Science, Artificial Intelligence, or a related field (mandatory).
  • Ph.D. in relevant fields (preferred).

Key Responsibilities:

1. Teaching & Curriculum Development:

  • Conduct lectures, workshops, and practical sessions in Machine Learning, Deep Learning, Python, R, and Data Statistics.
  • Develop and update course materials, case studies, and practical assignments based on industry standards.
  • Implement innovative teaching methodologies, including hands-on projects and industry-driven coursework.
  • Guide students in research projects, capstone projects, and dissertation work.

2. Research & Publications:

  • Engage in high-quality research and publish papers in reputed national and international journals.
  • Supervise research activities and mentor students in research methodologies.
  • Seek collaboration and funding for research initiatives in the field of AI, analytics, and business intelligence.

3. Industry Collaboration & Consulting:

  • Build industry connections for guest lectures, live projects, and student internships.
  • Participate in industry consultancy projects, particularly in analytics, AI, and machine learning applications.
  • Stay updated with industry trends and integrate real-world case studies into the curriculum.

4. Academic Administration & Development:

  • Participate in faculty meetings, curriculum design, and accreditation processes.
  • Contribute to institutional development, research conferences, and workshops.
  • Assist in organizing events, hackathons, and training programs in Data Science and AI.

5. Student Mentorship & Career Guidance:

  • Guide students on academic and career pathways in data science and business analytics.
  • Support students in competitions, research publications, and placements in the analytics industry.
  • Provide training for skill enhancement in AI, ML, and statistical tools.

Required Skills & Expertise:

  • Strong knowledge of Python, R, Machine Learning, Deep Learning, and Data Statistics.
  • Experience with AI/ML frameworks
  • Proficiency in data visualization, predictive analytics, and statistical modeling.
  • Hands-on experience with Big Data technologies, cloud platforms, and business intelligence tools is a plus.
  • Excellent communication, research aptitude, and problem-solving skills.

Experience Required:

  • Minimum 2 years of teaching or industry experience in the relevant domain.
  • Prior experience in guiding student projects and research will be an advantage.
