Head of EngineeringLocation: Gurgaon, IndiaReporting To: Chief Technology Officer (CTO)Team Size: - Must have managed at least 70 or more in his /her last postfolioAbout the RoleThis role is pivotal in shapinge nterprise architecture, driving modern software engineering practices, and embedding Dev Sec Ops across the organization.for building scalable, secure, and high-performance systems that power our digital insurance platforms.. Key ResponsibilitiesLeadership & Strategy- Lead and mentor a high-performing engineering team of 150+ professionals.- Define and execute the engineering strategy aligned with the company’s digital transformation goals.- Foster a culture of innovation, collaboration, and continuous improvement. Enterprise Architecture- Own and evolve the enterprise architecture to support scalability, agility, and resilience.- Ensure alignment between business goals and technology architecture.- Drive adoption of microservices, APIs, cloud-native architectures, and event-driven systems.Software Engineering Excellence- Establish and enforce best practices in software development, testing, and deployment.- Champion agile methodologies, CI/CD pipelines, and test automation.- Ensure high code quality, performance, and maintainability across all products. Dev Sec Ops & Security- Integrate security into every phase of the software development lifecycle.- Implement Dev Sec Ops practices to ensure secure, compliant, and auditable systems.- Collaborate with Info Sec and compliance teams to meet regulatory requirements (e.g., IRDAI).People & Delivery Management- Build and scale engineering teams with a focus on talent development and retention.- Oversee project delivery, resource planning, and performance management.- Drive engineering KPIs such as velocity, quality, uptime, and customer satisfaction.Qualifications & Experience- 15+ years of experience in software engineering, with at least 5 years in a senior leadership role.- Proven experience in leading large-scale engineering teams (70-80 people atleast ).- Strong background in enterprise architecture, cloud platforms (AWS/Azure/GCP), and modern tech stacks lile - Full stack / Java etc- Deep understanding of Dev Sec Ops, agile delivery, and secure coding practices.- Experience in BFSI or insurance domain is highly desirable.Preferred Skills- Excellent leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills.- Ability to work in a fast-paced, regulated environment.- Passion for mentoring and growing engineering talent.
