Associate Director – Consumer and Trade Promotions

Job Description

As Associate Director – Sales, you will lead strategic business development and key client acquisition efforts across targeted sectors. This role demands a high-performing professional with a proven track record in solution selling, team leadership, and deep understanding of loyalty, CRM, or customer engagement programs. You will also contribute to revenue planning and lead a small team of assistant managers.

Key Responsibilities :

  • Sales Strategy & Target Achievement: Own and deliver revenue targets for your vertical/region;
  • Define and drive the sales plan, with a focus on high-value client acquisition and retention; manage sales pipeline health and conversion metrics.
  • New Business Development: Identify, evaluate, and close large, consultative B2B deals across FMCG, Consumer Durables, BFSI, or Pharma sectors; navigate and influence multiple decision-makers (CXO, Marketing Heads, Procurement).
  • Team Leadership & Development: Lead a team of Sales Managers and Assistant Managers, setting KPIs and ensuring structured reviews; coach and guide team members through complex sales cycles and client interactions.
  • Key Account Management: Personally handle high-potential accounts to expand business; ensure strong post-sales collaboration with servicing teams for delivery and upsell.
  • Product-Market Fit Feedback & Collaboration: Work closely with Marketing, Servicing, and Product teams to fine-tune solution packaging based on client feedback; contribute to pitch decks, solution notes, pricing proposals, and client business cases.
  • Market Intelligence & Positioning: Stay abreast of market trends, competitor activity, and client needs to position Buyerr as a thought leader.

Qualifications & Characteristics

A highly reliable individual with enthusiasm, service orientation, and attention to detail is required, combined with excellent organization and communication skills. You will have these qualifications:

  • A bachelor degree in business/commerce and MBA in Marketing can get an advantage

years of B2B consultative sales experience, including at least
5
years in a people manager role.

  • Exposure in dealing with key decision makers from FMCG / FMCD, automotive or BFSI will be an advantage
  • Experience managing and closing intricate sales with multiple decision-makers
  • Skills in negotiating pricing of complex offerings
  • Comfort creating sales and marketing materials and presenting in public
  • High motivation and intelligence with expert interpersonal and oral/written communication skills
  • Ability to operate independently and flexibly in a start-up environment which is both demanding and multicultural
  • Availability for domestic travel (up to 50%)
  • Exposure and basic understanding of mobile and computing technologies. Fluency in English and a major Indian language
  • Ability to work in Mumbai with flexibility to move into other geographies is strongly preferred.
  • Experience in the Loyalty/ Brand rewards industry
