Job Overview

The SWX group is developing a state-of-the-art software platform that will be deployed on all Stellantis vehicles going forward. The SWX organization is seeking a technical specialist to work collaboratively as a member of the software methods and tools team to be responsible for supporting and optimizing the use of IBM Rhapsody, a powerful tool for modeling, simulation, and design of systems and software. This includes supporting Model Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) methods and other related tools, such as IBM Architecture Management (AM), in a global vehicle software organization. This position will entail working in a global environment, interacting with people in North America, South America, Europe, and Asia.



Responsibilities

The responsibilities of the IBM Rhapsody Methods & Tools Specialist include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Be part of a team that deploys and supports the IBM Engineering Lifecycle Management (ELM) platform across global teams, specifically focusing on the set up and configuration of IBM Rhapsody to meet the specific needs of the organization’s software and systems engineering processes.
  • Work collaboratively with other team members applying agile methodologies.
  • Work closely with key stakeholders to ensure they can collaborate using Rhapsody.
  • Design and implement methodologies that ensure best practices in system design, architecture modeling, and requirements traceability.
  • Integrate IBM Rhapsody with other tools in the organization’s development toolchain, such as AUTOSAR development, requirements management, and test management tools.
  • Automate repetitive tasks within Rhapsody to improve efficiency and reduce manual work.
  • Assist engineers in creating UML, SysML, or other model-based designs within Rhapsody.
  • Guide teams through the process of simulating systems to identify performance, functional, or design issues before implementation.
  • Provide regular updates on the effectiveness of the methods and tools, recommending improvements as necessary.
  • Provide training and support for end-users.
  • Stay updated on the latest trends and advancements in MBSE and model-based development to keep the organization’s processes competitive.



Minimum Qualification, Skills & Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related degree field
  • Minimum 3 years’ experience with MBSE principles, tools, and best practices
  • Minimum 2 years’ experience with IBM Rhapsody, IBM Rhapsody Model Manager, and IBM DOORs Next Gen
  • Proficiency in IBM Rhapsody, UML, SysML, and related systems modeling tools.
  • Experience in tool integration with other development platforms and technologies.
  • Must be fluent in both written and spoken engineering technical English language.
  • Outstanding interpersonal and problem-solving skills
  • Quick study who is passionate about his/her work and willing to go above and beyond
  • Self-starter who can work cross-functionally with other people



Preferred Qualification, Skills & Experience

  • Experience working in industries such as aerospace, automotive, or defense where systems engineering is critical.
  • Familiarity with requirements management, test management, and version control tools.
  • Background in software development, systems engineering, or technical project management.
  • Experience with other tools of the IBM ELM Tool Suite (RTC, RQM, JRS, BIRT, RPE, GCM)
  • Experience with Open Services for Lifecycle Collaboration (OSLC)
  • Experience with agile methodologies.
