The Strategy and Technology Group (STG) is a new initiative within Aon to deliver innovative consulting and technology solutions to its clients. GENERAL DESCRIPTION OF ROLE:

As DevOps Lead you will be responsible for the leading the deployment and support of a suite of multi-tier applications for cloud-based deployments.

You will support the team with pre-deployment requirements gathering, environment provisioning, application deployment and configuration and on-going maintenance of our applications.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

Lead and manage the DevOps function for the Tyche Reserving System (TRS), including recruitment, mentoring and performance evaluations. You will be involved in improving our DevOps story, feeding back experiences and requirements to the application teams, and implementing improvements. You will provide guidance to client support / IT teams in establishing best practices for supporting RPC Tyche applications and field support queries from those teams. You will use your experience and knowledge to diagnose environment specific problems and work with application and IT Teams (both internal and external) to implement secure and robust solutions. You will build ongoing relationships with Client IT Teams and proactively engage with them to ensure a reliable end user experience across multiple upgrade cycles over the lifespan of the applications.

SKILLS/COMPETENCIES REQUIRED

Experience of technical and team leadership Knowledge in CI/CD best practice Experience in GIT source control Experience with PowerShell Experience in Azure DevOps YAML pipelines Experience in Azure IaaS and Azure SQL Knowledge on Windows and core services including IIS, Window Services, Account Management and configuration. Experience in SQL Server Security first mindset - as part of this role you will deal with applications which are public internet facing and may handle commercially sensitive and / or personal data The ability to work independently and know when to escalate or engage other teams for further support. Strong written and verbal English communications skills.

Experience in Octopus Deploy Experience in PowerShell Testing Experience Azure PaaS service Advanced SQL and SQL Server experience Experience with Jira, Confluence and Azure DevOps Boards
