We are seeking a highly organized and experienced Team Lead – Documentation to oversee and manage the end-to-end documentation process for Ocean or Air import and export operations in a freight forwarding environment. The ideal candidate will be responsible for supervising a team of documentation executives, ensuring compliance with international trade regulations, and maintaining accuracy and efficiency in all documentation processes. This role is crucial in ensuring timely and smooth cargo movement across borders in OR out of Dubai or Saudi Arabia.

Key Accountabilities:

• Lead and supervise the documentation team, ensuring daily tasks are completed accurately and on time.
• Monthly Scorecard and Objective setting, Overall Performance Management.
• Oversee the preparation, verification, and submission of shipping and customs documents for air, sea, and land freight.
• Ensure all documentation complies with relevant international shipping laws, Incoterms, and local customs regulations (UAE/Saudi).
• Coordinate with internal departments (operations, sales, customer service) and external stakeholders(shipping lines, airlines, transporters, customs brokers).
• Ensure timely filing and release of Bill of Lading, Commercial Invoice, Packing List, Certificate of Origin, etc.
• Maintain thorough records of shipments, customs clearance, and customer communication for audit and compliance.
• Resolve discrepancies or documentation issues quickly to avoid cargo delays or penalties.
• Train, coach, and evaluate team members; implement best practices to improve accuracy and efficiency.
• Monitor performance KPIs for documentation processes and propose improvements.
• Stay updated on changes in customs regulations, trade compliance requirements, and shipping protocols in Dubai/Saudi Arabia.

Required Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Logistics, Supply Chain, Business Administration, or related field.
• Minimum 5+ years of experience in freight forwarding documentation, with at least 2 years in a supervisory or team lead role.
• In-depth knowledge of import/export procedures, customs clearance, and local trade regulations(UAE/Saudi Arabia).
• Familiar with Incoterms, HS Codes, and international shipping documentation.
• Experience with freight forwarding software (e.g., Cargowise, Logisuite, SAP TM, etc.) is a plus.
• Excellent leadership, problem-solving, and communication skills.
• Ability to multitask and work under tight deadlines.
• Strong communication skills
• Hands on experience in Microsoft Excel (pivot/vlook up etc.) and creating report manually.
• Prior experience in freight forwarding or logistics companies in the GCC region
• Familiarity with Dubai Trade / Saudi Customs (FASAH / ZATCA) portals
