The Director is entrusted with the responsibility of planning, designing, and executing a diverse portfolio of long-term academic programs, research initiatives, consultancy projects, Faculty Development Programs, and Management Development Programs within the realm of Management. This involves harnessing the expertise of a substantial pool of highly qualified and experienced human capital.Roles and ResponsibilitiesThe following list summarizes various responsibilities that the Director GITAM School of Business is expected to discharge to meet the expectations of various stakeholders:Leadership and Values:· Demonstrate a strong commitment to the values of quality, honesty, integrity, transparency, and accountability.· Uphold and promote a culture of ethical conduct and excellence throughout the Business School.· Prepare a Strategic Plan for the GITAM School of Business for the next three to five years and also yearly plans. These must be aligned to the GITAM Vision 2040.Academic Program Management:· Plan, design, and oversee the execution of long-term academic programs, ensuring alignment with industry standards and emerging trends.· Drive the development of Faculty Development Programs and Management Development Programs.· He/she should teach at least one or two courses to lead from the front.· Increased use of cutting-edge technology to drive business and also for better delivery of blended learning programs, online courses and efficient service.· Continuous improvement of existing standards in all operations of the School such as quality of question papers set, use of case studies, norms for returning the answer scripts, the announcement of examination results, pass rates, percentage of backlogs, quality of placements etc.Research and Consultancy:· Foster a robust research culture within the Business School.· Oversee the planning and execution of consultancy projects that contribute to academic and industry advancements.Human Capital Management:· Effectively manage a large pool of highly qualified and experienced faculty and staff.· Facilitate continuous professional development to ensure a high standard of expertise within the Business School.Strategic Vision:· Be a visionary leader, providing strategic direction for the comprehensive growth of the Business School.· Direct efforts towards enhancing the value and reputation of GITAM University.Stakeholder Engagement:· Cultivate positive relationships with internal and external stakeholders.· Actively engage with industry leaders, alumni, and the academic community to strengthen partnerships and opportunities.Institutional Reputation:· Direct initiatives to elevate the reputation of GITAM University through the achievements and contributions of the Business School.· Promote the university's values and accomplishments on a national and international scale.Ranking & Accreditation:· Spearhead the process of accreditation to the Association of Advance Collegiate Schools of Business (AACSB), USA, NBA, and NAAC.· Compliance with requirements of the All-India Council of Technical Education (AICTE) and the University Grants Commission (UGC).Skills Required· Effective communication skills, both oral and written.· Ability to inspire students, colleagues and other stakeholders.· Ability to lead highly-qualified faculty from diverse backgrounds as a cohesive unit with teamwork.· Participative Leadership that embraces divergent views.· Consensus building.· Creativity and innovation.· Ability to forge strategic partnerships with industry and Institutions of Higher Learning both local and overseas.Education and Experience· The candidate must hold a PhD.· Must have minimum of 8 Years of university teaching and administrative experience.· Scholarship, academic achievement, and the energy and intellect to work collaboratively with the faculty to develop a challenging and compelling vision of Business education.
