Regional Sourcing Lead – India and Middle East

We are looking for a Regional Sourcing Lead – India & Middle East to join our global team. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing and leading sourcing activities, including: identification, assessment, and qualification of suppliers for assigned products, commodities, or projects, ensuring both commercial and technical requirements are understood, communicated, and met; managing requests for information/quotations (RFI/RFQ); undertaking and leading negotiations with suppliers; managing activities related to supply of raw material, products, and services, including forecasting, planning, scheduling, order placement, warehousing/storage, inventory management, packing, and delivery; assessing processes, analyses data to facilitate a culture of continuous improvement both internally and within the supply base.


Duties and key responsibilities

  • Develop and lead sourcing projects, undertaking supplier identification, evaluation, and shortlisting for the assigned products or service, and effectively allocate resources in support of assigned goals and objectives.
  • Review the requirements of the assigned products/projects, identify the critical factors and potential risks to generate and implement effective risk mitigations.
  • Support the design and new product development process and advise on manufacturing aids, fixtures or inspection tools as required.
  • Support key priorities and build relationships with suppliers to ensure On-time-in-full (OTIF) deliveries of assigned products and services.
  • Lead negotiations on supply contracts and agreements, price, delivery, service levels, performance improvements, etc.
  • Assess potential supplier capabilities and make proposals for performance and quality improvements.
  • Work with internal stakeholders to create and implement improvement to Supply Chain activities and processes, including forecasting, planning, and inventory management.
  • Support external sales opportunities focusing on competitive advantage.
  • Support competitive bid exercises to test pricing and sourcing strategies.
  • Support intercompany trade focusing on overall corporate benefit.
  • Understand and challenge all notified price increases.
  • Stay up to date with international trading requirements and delivery terms.
  • Mentor, coach, and train employees.


Supervisory Responsibilities:

Responsibility for a small team of sourcing staff.


Qualifications and Educational Requirements:

  • Education:
  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering or procurement/supply chain management with relevant experience.
  • Formal education in procurement or supply chain management e.g. BSc. MSc. MCIPS, CSCP. (desired)


Skills & Experience:

  • Minimum of 5 years of industrial experience in procurement and/or supply chain management (Management of a team (preferred).
  • Solid knowledge and experience of mechanical manufacturing and test processes e.g. fabrication, casting, forging, tensile test, fatigue testing and NDT (Radiography, MPT, FPT, etc.)
  • Confident and capable supplier relationship management.
  • Good communicator (including fluency in English both written and oral)
  • Excellent negotiator
  • Effective project and task management
  • Broad experience of lean manufacturing principles and methods
  • Excellent interpersonal skills
  • Strong ability in data analytics.
  • Process orientated and strong attention to detail.
  • Strong capabilities in the use of computers and applications such as Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint (Power BI, and MRP desirable).
  • Travel Requirements:
  • Approx. 30% (some international)
