Job Duties
- Responsible for acting as Dowco's client representative on specific projects
- Ensuring client communication at a production level is occurring on a regular basis
- Ensure specific client issues are handled effectively
- Responsible for ensuring learning and growth objectives are aligned with strategic initiatives
- Responsible for preliminary review of "customer supplied" contract documentation for those projects most likely to be awarded
- Responsible for submitting applicable comments, recommendations and final contract acceptance to the EVP for consideration and final approval
- Meet with the EVP every second week to review Accounts Receivable to ensure that they are current and that action is taken on projects exceeding 60 days
- Ensure proper and thorough "kick off" and "Close Out" production meetings take place
- Initial input of project budgeted hours and values into Dowco's project database systems
- Responsible for meeting deadlines and production targets
- Responsible for ensuring that purchase orders and contracts have been received.
- Ensuring status reports are uploaded and kept up to date in the Project Portal, and clients are aware
- Update project invoicing forecast mid and end of month
- Creating/reviewing Request for Information's (RFI's)
- Managing RFI Log and issuing it to clients
- Monitoring and tracking Extra Work Order's (EWO's)
- Managing Project Data such as the Rev IFC, IFA, RFA etc.
- Responsible for issuing shop and field packages
- Creating lessons learned for each project and client, working with Customer Compliance Manager
- Maintaining Project Folder data
- Reviewing and managing the Customer Standards
- Responsible for mentoring Project Coordinators
Experience & Qualifications
Must have experience in detailing/checking and be adept at balancing tight schedules. A thorough understanding of steel detailing and production standards is necessary. You must have a sound understanding of Dowco's business processes. You must be organized and have excellent communication skills both written and verbally. You possess excellent people skills and are a motivational leader. In this role you are proactive and a logical thinker who takes initiative to solve problems early.
- Minimum of 7 years' experience in the steel industry, at least 2 of those must be in a project coordination/2IC
Development
- Level 1: Project Management Diploma or Certification and Tekla Evaluation
- Level 2: BIM Part One Course and Dowco Processes Exam and Tekla Evaluation
- Level 3: Certified Associate in Project Management and Tekla Evaluation
