Job Title: Senior Vice President (SVP) Cyber Innovation & Research

Basic Qualifications (Mandatory)

• BE/ B.Tech in any discipline from a University/Institution/Board recognized by Govt. of India/approved by Govt. Regulatory bodies. OR
• MCA/ M.E./ M.Tech/ M.Sc in any discipline from a University/Institution/Board recognized by Govt. of India/approved by Govt. Regulatory bodies.

Preferred Qualifications

• Advanced degree in Cybersecurity or Information Technology.
• Professional certifications such as CISSP, CISM, CISA, CCSP, PMP, or MBA (Technology Management).

Experience (Mandatory)

• 15+ years overall experience, with 810 years in Cybersecurity Innovation or relevant R&D leadership roles.

Experience (Preferred)

• Experience in establishing or working at a senior level in a Centre of Excellence (CoE).

• Strong knowledge of Banking & Financial Services Industry (BFSI) regulations and compliance requirements, including but not limited to:

• RBI Cybersecurity Framework

• SEBI Cybersecurity Guidelines
• Data Protection Laws
• PCI-DSS / NIST Frameworks
• Other BFSI-specific regulatory compliance requirements

• Proven experience in establishing and managing innovation labs or research centers.
• Strong track record of driving outcome-oriented research projects with measurable business/industry impact.
• Ability to identify, evaluate, and implement emerging technologies to strengthen SBI's cyber resilience.
• Experience in collaborative research with academia, industry partners, and government agencies.

Strategic & Program Management Skills

• Ability to align innovation and research projects with SBI's organizational objectives.
• Strong knowledge of program and project management principles with end-to-end delivery ownership.
• Experience in leading cross-functional research and innovation teams.
• Capability to evaluate disruptive trends, assess risks, and recommend adoption strategies.

Technical & Analytical Skills

• Deep understanding of cybersecurity technologies, advanced concepts, and industry disruptions.
• Expertise in cybersecurity policy and practice, with experience running innovation-centric programs.
• Strong data analysis and critical thinking capabilities to transform research into actionable insights.
• Ability to lead security researchers and ensure high-quality research output.

Leadership & Communication Skills

• Excellent leadership, mentoring, and team management skills.
• Strong verbal and written communication, capable of presenting complex research outcomes to technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• High ethical standards, with a moral compass rooted in public service, ethics, and integrity.

Role Objective

The Senior Vice President – Cyber Innovation & Research will:

• Lead SBI's Cyber Innovation & Research agenda by setting up and managing research labs.
• Drive cutting-edge research, technology evaluation, and innovation initiatives aligned with SBI's cyber strategy.
• Deliver impactful research outcomes that strengthen SBI's cybersecurity posture and industry standing.
• Foster a culture of innovation, collaboration, and thought leadership by engaging with academia, industry, and government.
• Position SBI at the forefront of cybersecurity research and innovation in the BFSI sector.
