Job Summary:
The Facility Manager will be responsible for the overall upkeep and efficient operation of the school’s facilities. This role requires strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage a team of maintenance staff. The Facility Manager will ensure that all physical aspects of the school are functioning optimally to provide a safe and effective learning environment.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Oversee the maintenance and repair of the school’s buildings, grounds, and equipment.
  • Develop and implement a preventative maintenance program to ensure the longevity and safety of school facilities.
  • Manage a team of maintenance and custodial staff, including hiring, training, and performance evaluations.
  • Coordinate with external contractors and service providers for specialized repairs and maintenance.
  • Ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations.
  • Monitor and manage the school’s facilities budget, including the procurement of supplies and equipment.
  • Conduct regular inspections of facilities to identify and address potential issues.
  • Respond promptly to emergency maintenance requests and ensure timely resolution.
  • Develop and maintain facility-related records, including maintenance logs, safety inspections, and equipment manuals.
  • Coordinate facility usage for school events and activities, ensuring appropriate setup and takedown.
  • Implement energy-saving initiatives and sustainability practices.
Qualifications:
  • Proven experience as a Facility Manager or in a similar role, preferably in an educational setting.
  • Strong knowledge of facilities management operations, including maintenance, security, and safety protocols.
  • Excellent organizational and project management skills.
  • Ability to manage and lead a team effectively.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficiency in using facilities management software and other relevant technology.
  • Knowledge of local building codes, safety regulations, and compliance requirements.
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks and prioritize effectively.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Degree or diploma in facilities management, engineering, or a related field.
  • Certification in facilities management (e.g., Certified Facility Manager (CFM)).
  • Experience with budget management and cost control.
  • Familiarity with CBSE school environments and culture.
