Job Description / Responsibilities:

We are looking for a MS SQL DBA to manage and maintain Microsoft SQL Server databases to meet our company and client needs.
This is a full-time contract position with remote work. The candidate is required to work at least 4 hours during TSG business time (9:00 AM to 5:00 PM CST). The work location is remote, and relocation is not required. However, flexibility regarding business hours may evolve based on your productivity, knowledge, and skills.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Database Installation & Configuration: Set up new SQL Server instances, configure them as per organizational requirements.
  • Security Management: Implement and maintain security measures to safeguard data.
  • Performance Tuning: Optimize SQL Server performance through query analysis, indexing, and more.
  • Backup & Recovery: Develop and manage backup procedures and recovery plans.
  • Troubleshooting: Diagnose and resolve database-related issues (performance, errors, connectivity).
  • Data Management: Ensure data integrity, consistency, and availability.
  • Monitoring: Continuously monitor the health and performance of SQL Server instances.
  • Automation: Automate routine tasks using scripting languages like T-SQL.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with other IT teams to ensure smooth operations of related systems and applications.
  • Continuous Learning: Stay updated on the latest SQL Server features and best practices.

Qualification:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a relevant field.

Required Skills:

  • SQL Server Expertise: Deep knowledge of SQL Server architecture, features, and functionalities.
  • Proficiency in SQL and T-SQL: Ability to write and optimize SQL queries and stored procedures.
  • Database Design: Strong understanding of database design principles for creating efficient and scalable database structures.
  • Experience with SSIS, SSAS, SSRS: Familiarity with SQL Server Integration Services, Analysis Services, and Reporting Services.
  • Cloud Experience: Knowledge of Azure SQL Database and cloud-based database environments.

Desired Profile of the Candidate:

  • Experience: A minimum of 3 years of proven experience as a Database Administrator (DBA).

Compensation: Compensation will be based on skills and experience.
