Job PurposeThe Goal of the Pricing Transformation Team is to do a full-stack transformation of the in-house Pricing Management Suite, and this role’s integral part in that is to build, and continually improve, the new and improved pricing engine; a set of price-setting algorithms based on a foundation of business simulation forecasts.We are looking for a skilled model builder, who can design, develop, and implement mathematical simulations of real-world business scenarios, that will be used to predict outcomes, analyse complex systems, and importantly, be eventually used as a dynamic environment for a reinforcement learning based pricing engine.The Team itself has a great start-up feel. It’s small, highly motivated and multi-disciplinary, with each member confident in their ability to work independently, but happy to work together in larger projects.This is a great opportunity to join a market leader and make a personal contribution to our success.Key Responsibilities
Model Development - create simulation models representing real-world processes, systems, or phenomena.Programming and Implementation - write efficient, object-orientated code, ideally using a scientific programming language and style. Python is the current models language.Model Calibration and Sensitivity Analysis - calibrate simulation parameters based on historical data or expert knowledge. Conduct sensitivity analyses to assess the impact of different input parameters on model outcomes.Documentation and Reporting - document model assumptions, design choices, and implementation details. Prepare clear and concise reports or presentations to communicate findings to stakeholders.Collaboration - work closely with data scientists, and subject-matter experts to refine models and improve their accuracy. Participate in interdisciplinary teams to address complex problemsRequired Skills, Experience & QualificationsEducation: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics, or a related field.Certification: Proficiency in Python & SQL, additional scientific language desired (e.g. R).Strong understanding of statistical concepts, especially Markov Chains & Likelihood functions.Familiarity with simulation methodologies and techniques.Attention to detail and problem-solving abilities.Excellent communication skills to collaborate with cross-functional teams.A confident decision maker.Proven experience of successfully influencing stakeholders in a matrix environment.Prioritises well, and consistently delivers against tight deadlines.Team player with high level of professional integrity.Excellent analytical skills with a passionate attitude to problem solving.Strong attention to detail.Comfortable with ambiguity and prepared to work in an agile and flexible way.Experience in price optimization and/or revenue management is preferred.About the companyIWG has been at the forefront of flexible working for more than 30 years.
