Role & Responsibilities :
Procurement
• Procurement of powder products’ raw materials, specifically sand and cement.
• Review costs, inventory and service on a regular basis and update RA1.
• Price updation in system and PO creation/maintenance for cement and sand.
• Supervise the regional buyers’ activities.
Vendor development
• Identify new and cost-effective sources of powder materials - sand, cement and qualify reliable alternate sources with support of the R & D team, near the manufacturing plants.
• Identify trends and improvements in the cement and sand industry.
• Explore procurement of cement from local and imported sources.
• Identify and ensure cost optimal transportation, working with the Central Freight Team.
Risk Mitigation
• Identify and resolve likely disruptions in market and environment that can impact the supplies of materials, specifically sand. Working closely with R&D, Operations and vendors to prevent supply disruption. • Regular Visit to the Regional Units and Vendors to evaluate and audit vendors.
Transportation Management
• Coordinate for transport vendor finalization, rate finalization with HO Freight Team.
• Work with HO Freight Team on improvement opportunities like rail, two-point sourcing.
Process Adherence
• Maintain MIS for monthly review meetings.
• Oversee vendors to ensure that our suppliers/contractors are complying with quality as per PIL std. generate & Provide MIS.
• Conducting general market research in various categories as well as research into potential suppliers, product specifications and resources.
People Development
• Ensure that all team members have complete clarity on their R&R, and have the necessary tools and awareness of relevant SPPBMs to be able to deliver on the R&R
• Ensure that all team members drive Process Improvement Initiatives
Desired Profile : BE (Must), MBA 7 to 8 years experience into procurement of building raw material, cement, sand etc.
