The Brief

A globally focused shipping and transportation organisation is continuing to drive an ambitious and complex change and transformational programme to deliver a service of excellence for its customers and clients worldwide. The Global CTIO has a mandate from the Maersk board to lead the Technology transformation of Maersk which will enable the Maersk business strategy to become the global integrator of container logistics through digitizing the Maersk business processes and customer engagement.

The Technology function is fundamental to enable the company’s transformation and in response to this demand, our in-house technological capability is growing exponentially. We are recruiting world class talent to ensure that the technology services are modernized to enable Maersk to become a logistics integrator leveraging a competitive advantage through technology.

The Network Service Design & Delivery function is essential to our transformation, it is a central team within Network Architecture & Engineering, responsible for the service operating model and architecture, defining outcomes and driving competitive service economics; including service fulfilment of network and perimeter products capabilities provided to the Maersk business.

Reporting to the Head of Network Service Design & Delivery, you will serve as a Senior Service Delivery Manager. The role is responsible for delivery management of networks and perimeter products/services for Maersk Technology within a business region; providing connectivity, commercial change, activation and assurance handover both centrally and locally into the business and tech echo system.

It has a critical role to play as we continue to develop our long-term multi-technology and multi-product network and perimeter capabilities, connecting our asset, sites and people on land and at sea. Aligning strategy to execution of our portfolio operations that not only meet the need of our business today but will be a differentiator, enabling our colleagues and partners with technology solutions that are a catalyst for productivity and innovation.

Scope

All data networks provided to Maersk across Core, Edge and Cloud locations (offices, warehouses, terminals, vessels, data centres, cloud etc), and the perimeter services that protect and enable them including but not limited to:

Wireless Transport: Satellite | 4G/LTE | 5G

IoT Networking Solutions: Industrial Wi-Fi

WAN: Internet | IP/MPLS | Next-Gen/SD WAN

LAN: DC Networking | SDN | Fixed & Wireless

Perimeter : Load balancers | NG Firewalls | Security Service Edge

Specific Job Requirements

Regional responsibility for the service fulfilment of non-commercial and commercial change, service activation and handover into Assurance network and perimeter products. Enabling northbound consumption of network and Perimeter products by CTIO platform teams, partners, and IT Services | Operations Management communities

The role holder will lead on the scoping of service delivery requirements for standard and complex service requests, discrete projects and or large programme of works, manage budgets and downstream Hw/Sw orders including managed services.

Work collaboratively with downstream suppliers to set realistic expectations about services and associated logistics and ensure that SLAs are met. Managing the relationships with those you serve internally through the employment of OLAs

The role requires the ability to work with Internal teams and third-party suppliers to resolve breaches of SLA/OLA and escalations; adopting the ITIL methodology to identify areas for service Improvement

To be a successful Senior Service Delivery Manager at Maersk, you must be passionate about building, enabling and sustaining our business, as well as inspiring and developing our people. Further, in this role you will:

Be a world class expert in the Network Service Delivery domain executing the delivery model and change management strategy for Networks and Perimeter for the Maersk Group.

Ensure the successful incremental delivery of the current estate while modernizing and transforming to enable the future strategy

Identify the business value and additional cost saving opportunities e.g. additional capacity and identify any actions necessary to enable Maersk to improve network service delivery

Owning & being responsible for all network and perimeter adjustments/modifications across the build & working with stakeholders to ensure they are actioned in a timely manner.

Allocate tasks and between field engineering teams internal and partner provided, including recording requests, following up calls and maintaining schedules

Regularly provide a transparent view of network and perimeter service delivery within the business region. Act as a SPOC for the business region and responsible towards TSE Product Strategy & Org Operations, ensuring harmonization of delivery times with central initiatives.

Provide internal world class service delivery capabilities in the Network and Perimeter domain such that Maersk is self-sufficient in the company’s ability to deliver on its strategic remit.

Develop deep relationships with the stakeholder groups across the Maersk business who rely on Technology services provided by this function.

Managing all streams within the region under the network and perimeter service delivery umbrella, including external parties and vendors. Driving and challenging Engineering and Supplier teams on their assumptions of successful execution.

What I'll be doing – your accountabilities?

Service Delivery Management – Delivery, service activation and hand over into assurance of network and perimeter platforms, products and services globally across Core, Edge and Cloud:

Manage service delivery initiation activities including identifying contractual obligations, customer needs and goals, existing situation, necessary contacts and access to existing information as needed

Serve as liaison between technical and non-technical teams across Maersk as well as in vendor/subcontractor organizations to ensure all delivery targets and requirements are met.

Effective communication, regular status tracking and KPI reporting to key stakeholders on all network and perimeter delivery timelines, deliverables, and risks associated with the completion of objectives.

Engage with internal teams and suppliers to manage, site surveys, ordering and installation or decommissioning of circuits, hardware and software across the network and perimeter ecosystem

Manage commercial and non-commercial change within the lifespan of deployments

Ensure carriers meet contractual requirements and produce thorough reporting and SLA & KPI monitoring

Monitoring and reporting service achievement against contractual and non-contractual performance targets and Service Level Agreements (SLAs).

Manage delivery plans from a regional perspective, budget, risks and issues; act as a service delivery escalation and point and escalate to senior management when appropriate.

Conduct service delivery closure activities to formalize and communicate service acceptance into Assurance, handover documentation and ongoing activities to accountable teams and complete a post-implementation review to identify areas of improvement

Lead on service delivery ‘ln-life’ continuous improvement within the business region

Supplier/partner capability performance management, commercial management

Must haves:

A demonstrable track record operating as a Service Delivery professional within a globally focused business

World class expertise and experience in network delivery and demand management in a large Multi-national Corporation, Network Service Provider or Systems Integrator

Preferably ITIL qualified

This candidate must have 7+ years’ experience of delivery management of connectivity-based services including but not limited to Satellite, 4G/LTE, 5G, WAN, Fixed and Wireless LAN networks and CPE, Cloud Connect, load balancers, firewalls, VPN concentrators and SSE

Hands on experience in delivering complex connectivity infrastructure at scale across a global matrix organisation

Successful history of leading, managing, and implementing impactful process improvement

Must be a proven self-starter operating with minimal supervision.

Excellent written, verbal communication and presentation skills

Ability to manage multiple, sometimes competing priorities

Strong organizational and planning skills

Strong leadership capabilities along with solid judgement and decision-making skills

Strong communication skills, both verbal and written

The ability to work under pressure and effectively prioritize your workload
