Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Payroll Specialist with specialised knowledge of US taxes to join our team in Chennai, India. This role is critical in ensuring accurate and compliant payroll processing for employees in the United States. The Payroll Specialist will manage all aspects of payroll administration, including tax withholding, deductions, and ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local tax regulations.

Responsibilities

- Manage end-to-end payroll processing for US-based employees, ensuring timely and accurate payroll execution.- Apply in-depth knowledge of US tax laws, including federal, state, and local tax withholding, to ensure compliance.- Administer tax filings and ensure that all payroll taxes are accurately withheld and remitted.- Handle payroll deductions, adjustments, and contributions such as benefits, 401(k), and garnishments.- Reconcile payroll accounts and resolve any discrepancies in payroll reports.- Maintain accurate payroll records and generate reports as required.- Collaborate with HR and Finance teams to ensure payroll accuracy and compliance with company policies.- Stay up-to-date with changes in US tax laws and regulations to ensure ongoing compliance.- Respond to employee inquiries regarding payroll, taxes, and deductions in a timely manner.

Must Haves

- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.- Extensive experience in US payroll processing, with a strong understanding of US tax regulations.- Proficiency in payroll software and tools, with the ability to manage large payroll volumes.- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in payroll processing.- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to explain payroll matters clearly to employees.- Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams in HR, Finance, and Compliance.- Strong organisational and time-management skills to meet payroll deadlines.
