We are now hiring a Founding Head of Engineering to lead our technical direction and platform execution. This is a hands-on leadership role.What you’ll doOwn the architecture and development of our agentic AI platformDesign scalable, reliable backend infrastructure that powers automation workflowsLead and mentor a high-performing, distributed engineering teamCollaborate closely with product, operations, and implementation teams to deliver into real-world hospital environmentsDrive technical execution across short-term priorities and long-term strategic initiativesOperate with a startup mentality — high autonomy, high responsibility, and a bias toward shippingContribute to company-wide decisions as a core member of the leadership teamRequirements7–10 years of experience in backend, platform, or systems engineeringBachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field (Master’s preferred or equivalent real-world experience)Deep experience with Python or comparable backend languages in production environmentsProven track record designing and scaling complex systems and APIsExperience leading engineering teams or projects with high accountability and ownershipFamiliarity with data pipelines, distributed systems, and workflow orchestrationStrong problem-solving skills and ability to make architecture decisions under ambiguityExcellent communication and collaboration skills across technical and non-technical teamsStartup experience or mindset — adaptable, resourceful, and focused on outcomesPreferred: background in automation, agent-based systems, healthcare technology, or AI/ML infrastructureWhy join usBuild a foundational AI product solving real operational problems in healthcareJoin at a critical inflection point with product-market fit and real momentumStep into a founding-level role with strong equity and a clear package.Define the engineering culture, processes, and architecture from the ground upWork with a small, high-ownership team focused on execution and impactFully remote with flexibility and autonomyDiversity, equity, and inclusionGabeo.ai is an equal opportunity employer.
