StudioRG is currently looking for an MEP Engineer to join our team. The Electrical Drafter is responsible for preparing production and assembly drawings using computer-aided drafting (AutoCAD) based on models created by our design team. Some modeling and design may be involved but an understanding of the concepts and practices is necessary.


Essential Functions for Electrical :

  • Creation of 2D Drawings using CAD Software utilizing backgrounds and existing drawings provided by our design team.
  • Electrical Power and Lighting Plans
  • Emergency Lighting and Life Safety
  • Electrical Panel Schedules and One Line Diagrams

Understanding power, lighting, photometrics and how to draft these concepts with code compliance based on local regionalism and design standards.

Understanding of food service equipment cutbooks and how to apply specifications for load calculations.Ability to create Panel Schedules and Line Diagrams from existing and new work based on existing drawings, photos, and 3D Scans.Able to read existing plans and 3D Scans and make assumptions based on design orientation for existing spaces.Having the ability to alter existing electrical systems, lighting systems, switchgear, and panels.


Essential Functions for Plumbing :

  • Creation of 2D Drawings using CAD Software utilizing backgrounds and existing drawings provided by our design team.
  • Water Supply, Sanitary Waste
  • Grease Waste Plans
  • 3D Isometric drawings/risers
  • Floor Drains
  • Gas Riser and Plans

Understanding plumbing supply, sanitary waste, grease waste, and vent and how to draft these concepts with code compliance based on local regionalism.Understanding of Gas systems for food service equipment, RTU, and their requirements.Plumbing Schedules and Capacities.Able to read existing plans and 3D Scans and make assumptions based on design orientation for existing spaces.Having the ability to alter existing plumbing systems, sanitary, water and gas supply, sanitary waste, and grease waste.


Essential Functions for Mechanica l:

  • Creation of 2D Drawings using CAD Software utilizing backgrounds and existing drawings provided by our design team.
  • Understanding mechanical calculations and duct work to produce mechanical plans.
  • Understanding of Hood Systems, Exhaust Fans, and Make-Up Air Units and their application.
  • Mechanical Schedules and Loads for Cubic Volumes.

Able to read existing plans and 3D Scans and make assumptions based on design orientation for existing spaces.Having the ability to alter existing mechanical systems.


Strong knowledge of MEP Drafting principles and dimensioning methods is preferred. Problem-solving and critical thinking skills are required. Excellent oral and written communication skills are required to communicate effectively.

Must be able to work in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook), and Zoom. Experience with 2D CAD design, ACAD or equivalent, and 3D CAD design, we prefer Revit experience, but it is not required.

Familiarity with foodservice equipment, RTUs, mechanical & plumbing calculations, and design principles is desired.


Competencies : A strong understanding of foodservice equipment and MEP design is required. Must have a professional personality and the ability to work as an effective team member. Must be able to work within existing design standards and guidelines.


Education / Experience : Associate degree or equivalent from a two-year college or technical school in Computer-Aided Design Drafting or 1-2 years of related experience, or equivalent degree/experience is required.


Physical Demands : Sedentary position requiring extended periods of sitting. Talking, hearing, and repetitive motions are required.
