Role Overview:
We are looking for an experienced Senior Engineering Manager to lead and scale a team of software engineers and engineering managers. In this role, you will oversee the development, execution, and launch of features that drive the adoption and scalability. You will foster a culture of operational excellence, scalability, and innovation. You will mentor engineers and managers, setting a high standard for technical leadership and building a collaborative, high-performing team.
What You’ll Do:
- Leadership & Team Management: Lead, mentor, and grow a team of talented software engineers and engineering managers. Promote a culture of collaboration, innovation, and continuous learning.
- Technical Leadership: Oversee the architecture and design of systems used by millions of developers. Ensure the solutions your team delivers are scalable, reliable, and aligned with industry best practices.
- Mentorship & Growth: Mentor and guide engineers and engineering managers to develop their technical and leadership skills. Cultivate an environment where engineers can innovate, grow, and excel.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with product managers, senior leadership, and other engineering teams to align technical decisions with business goals. Collaborate to design, build, and deliver impactful features.
- Operational Excellence: Establish and maintain high standards for the operational quality of the systems and features your teams build. Ensure production systems are reliable, performant, and scalable.
- Innovation & Experimentation: Stay at the forefront of emerging technologies, encouraging your teams to experiment, innovate, and leverage new tools and frameworks to improve development processes and product capabilities.
- Hiring & Diversity: Lead efforts to recruit top engineering talent while promoting diversity, equity, and inclusion within the team.
What You’ll Bring:
- Experience: 10+ years of experience in software engineering, with at least 4 years of experience managing engineering teams. Proven success leading managers and teams responsible for high-impact, production systems.
- Technical Expertise: Deep understanding of distributed systems, cloud architectures, and building scalable platforms. Strong proficiency in one or more modern programming languages (e.g., Python, Java, Go, Node.js, TypeScript).
- Leadership Skills: Demonstrated ability to inspire, lead, and develop high-performing teams in a fast-paced environment. Experience managing complex technical projects and driving results.
- Product & Business Acumen: Strong business sense with the ability to partner with product managers and business stakeholders to translate business goals into technical solutions.
- Communication: Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to explain complex technical concepts to diverse audiences.
- Mentorship & Team Development: A passion for mentoring and developing engineers. Experience building a culture of collaboration, ownership, and high performance within teams.
- Track Record of Results: Proven ability to deliver high-quality features in dynamic, fast-paced environments. Experience with scaling systems and building products used by a large, diverse user base.
