This is a critical, high-impact role requiring deep domain knowledge, strategic thinking, and hands-on execution. The consultant will be tasked with setting up the entire supply chain, ensuring quality standards, and establishing profitability of the vertical by introducing best practices including but not limited to cost optimization.Key Responsibilities1. Supply Chain & Procurement Strategy· Establish Sourcing Network: Identify, vet, and finalize reliable suppliers/traders for key dry fruit varieties.· Cost Management: Develop and implement effective procurement strategies to ensure the lowest cost of acquisition while maintaining the highest quality standards.·Logistics Setup: Advise on efficient logistics, warehousing, storage, and handling protocols to minimize damage and spoilage.2. Quality Assurance & Standardization·Quality Benchmarking: Define and document the internal Quality Control (QC) parameters and specifications for each dry fruit product, aligning with FSSAI and other guidelines as applicable as best practices.·Testing Protocol: Establish a mandatory testing protocol·Handling & Processing: Advise on the optimal in-house sorting, grading, roasting (if applicable), and packaging methodologies suitable for a premium FMCG offering.3. Market Insight & Product Portfolio·Product Selection: Provide expert recommendations on the initial dry fruit product portfolio, package sizing, and price positioning based on current market trends.·Competitive Analysis: Offer in-depth analysis of key competitors, their sourcing practices, and pricing strategies to help the company gain a competitive edge.·Regulatory Compliance: Ensure all sourcing, processing, and labeling activities are 100% compliant with FSSAI, Legal Metrology, and other relevant Indian regulatory bodies.Required Skills & Qualifications· Experience: Minimum 15-20 years of dedicated, hands-on experience in procurement, trading, or quality control of dry fruits and nuts.·Domain Expertise: Exceptional knowledge of global dry fruit varieties, their origins, seasonality, market price dynamics, and characteristic quality defects.·Network: Proven and verifiable established relationships with major dry fruit growers, processors, and traders.·Technical Knowledge: Familiarity with the technical aspects of dry fruit processing.·Attributes: Sharp negotiation skills, strong organizational abilities, and a results-driven, entrepreneurial mindset.What the Company OffersA challenging and entrepreneurial environment where you will be instrumental in launching a major new business vertical.
