Job Title: D365 - Technical Consultant

Location: Gurgaon

1. Areas of Responsibility (Key Result Areas)

  • Demonstrate a general understanding of D365 F&O functionality to provide effective solutions.
  • Demonstrates strong coding skill using Dynamics AX, X++ and its related technologies/tools to develop customizations in MS Dynamics 365 F&O, including estimation and documentation.
  • Reviews Functional design of given business requirements for technical solution and detailed technical design (TDD)
  • Produces high quality TDD document as per set standards and templates - ensuring adherence to the Software Development Life Cycle & Agile and Sure Step Methodology.
  • Drive/Assist Technical design on the GAP requirements with other technical teams to ensure technical quality is consistent.
  • Engage in discussions with functional consultants for design clarifications.
  • Work closely with rest of development teams to assist them in development to adhere to project timelines.
  • Ensures no deadlines of projects are slipped and takes ownership for given deadlines.
  • Delivers high quality X++ code with defined quality standards and guidelines.
  • Integrate with peripheral Azure technologies or third-party applications.
  • Ensure compliance with architectural standards, global product guidelines, and usability design standards.
  • Investigate and troubleshoot problems, identifying real or hidden causes.
  • Reports his/her progress periodically to lead/project manager and assists them in reporting. Works with minimal supervision and self-driven.

2. Qualification and Experience

Educational Qualifications Required

Relevant Experience

Bachelor’s degree or higher in Information Technology / Engineering, or MCA (Full-Time education).

Candidates with relevant Microsoft certifications will be preferred.

Total of 8 to 10 years of experience with at least 4 end to end implementations in Dynamics D365 F&O / AX versions as technical consultant, contributing to presales, implementation, upgrade, migration, and support projects.

3. Key Skills & Core Competencies

The Technical Consultant for Microsoft Dynamics 365 Finance and Operations (D365 F&O) ERP needs a combination of technical, functional, and interpersonal skills to be successful.

  • In-depth knowledge of Microsoft Dynamics 365 Finance and Operations ERP platform.
  • Understanding of the various modules within D365 F&O, including Finance, Supply Chain Management, Human Resources, and others.
  • Technical Proficiency in core X++ development, - Visual Studio, UI development and customizations, SSRS report development and deployment, data management, Power BI development and deployment using Power BI Desktop, integration methodologies, Azure functions, Logic Apps, Power Automate, PowerApps, extensions and event handling, SQL and code performance tuning, Life Cycle Services (LCS), Azure DevOps, and deployment strategies & code merging.
  • Ability to integrate D365 F&O with other systems and applications.
  • Knowledge of data migration and integration tools such as Data Entities, Data Management Framework (DMF), and Azure Logic Apps.
  • Familiarity with reporting tools like Power BI and SQL Server Reporting Services (SSRS) for creating custom reports.
  • Understanding of data models and data warehousing concepts.
  • Knowledge of security roles and permissions within D365 F&O.
  • Ability to configure and manage security settings to ensure data integrity and confidentiality.
  • Proficiency in using Lifecycle Services for deploying, monitoring, and managing Dynamics 365 environments.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to address technical issues and provide effective solutions.
  • Excellent communication skills to understand client requirements and explain technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
  • Ability to conduct training sessions and workshops for end-users.
  • Understanding of project management methodologies and the ability to manage tasks, timelines, and resources effectively.
  • Given the evolving nature of technology, a willingness to stay updated on the latest developments in D365 F&O and related Microsoft technologies.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with functional consultants, business users, and other IT professionals to deliver successful implementations.
  • Strong documentation skills to record configurations, customizations, and other technical aspects of the implementation.
