As a Field Chief Technology Officer (Field CTO) specializing in Data Engineering, you will lead the development and execution of data strategies across field operations. This role requires expertise in data management, analytics, and technology leadership to drive innovation and ensure the effective use of data for business insights and operational improvements.The Field CTO will work closely with executive leadership, including the Chief Technology Officer (CTO) and Chief Information Officer (CIO), to align data strategies with overall technology initiatives

Responsibilities:

  • Data Strategy Development:

    • Collaborate with senior management to define and implement data strategies aligned with business objectives.
    • Identify opportunities to leverage data for improving operational efficiency and decision-making.

  • Data Architecture and Infrastructure:

    • Design and oversee the implementation of scalable and efficient data architecture and infrastructure.
    • Evaluate and adopt appropriate technologies and tools for data storage, processing, and analysis.

  • Data Governance and Quality:

    • Establish data governance frameworks and best practices to ensure data integrity, security, and compliance.
    • Implement processes for data quality assurance and continuous improvement.

  • Analytics and Insights:

    • Lead the development of data analytics capabilities to derive actionable insights from field operations data.
    • Collaborate with data scientists and business analysts to develop predictive models and reporting solutions.

  • Team Leadership and Development:

    • Manage and mentor a team of data engineers and analysts.
    • Foster a culture of innovation and professional development within the data engineering team.

  • Stakeholder Engagement:

    • Partner with business stakeholders to understand data requirements and priorities.
    • Communicate data strategies, insights, and recommendations to executive leadership and operational teams.

  • Vendor Management and Partnerships:

    • Evaluate and manage relationships with data technology vendors and service providers.
    • Collaborate with external partners to drive innovation and leverage emerging data technologies.

  • Risk Management and Compliance:

    • Identify and mitigate risks related to data security, privacy, and regulatory compliance.
    • Ensure adherence to data protection regulations and standards.

Requirements

Requirements:

  • Proven experience in a senior leadership role focused on data engineering, such as Chief Data Officer (CDO), Director of Data Engineering, or similar.
  • Deep understanding of Data Science, data architecture, ETL processes, data modeling, and data warehouse technologies.
  • Experience with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, Google Cloud) and big data technologies (e.g., Hadoop, Spark, Kafka).
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to translate business needs into technical requirements.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • Experience in managing and developing high-performing data engineering teams.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Statistics, or related field (advanced degree preferred).
  • Relevant certifications in data management or related areas (e.g., Certified Data Management Professional, AWS Certified Big Data - Specialty) are a plus
