Job Description :
As a Jira Administrator, you will be responsible for the configuration, administration, and maintenance of our Jira instance to support the needs of our organization.
You will work closely with stakeholders from various departments to understand requirements, customize workflows, implement best practices, and provide ongoing support and training to users.
This role offers an exciting opportunity to play a key role in optimizing our project management processes and driving efficiency and productivity across the organization.
Key Responsibilities :
Jira Configuration and Customization : Configure and customize Jira to align with our organization's project management processes, including creating custom issue types, workflows, fields, screens, and dashboards.
Plugin Management : Evaluate, install, configure, and manage Jira plugins and add-ons to extend functionality and meet specific business requirements, ensuring compatibility and stability.
User Management : Manage user accounts, groups, and permissions in Jira, ensuring appropriate access levels and permissions are defined and enforced based on roles and responsibilities.
Workflow Automation : Implement automation rules, post-functions, and triggers using Jira's built-in features or scripting languages such as Groovy or Python to automate repetitive tasks and streamline workflows.
Integration : Integrate Jira with other tools and systems in our technology stack, such as Confluence, Bitbucket, Jenkins, and Slack, to facilitate seamless collaboration and information sharing.
Performance Monitoring and Optimization : Monitor the performance and health of the Jira instance, identify and address performance bottlenecks, optimize configurations, and implement scalability solutions as needed.
Issue Resolution and Support : Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues reported by users, provide timely and effective support, and escalate complex issues to Atlassian support or third-party vendors as necessary.
Documentation and Training : Create and maintain comprehensive documentation, including user guides, best practices, and troubleshooting procedures, and provide training and support to users to ensure effective utilization of Jira.
Qualifications :
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.
- 4-8 years of experience in administering Jira in a large-scale enterprise environment, including configuration, customization, and support.
- Strong understanding of Jira's architecture, data model, and administration capabilities, with hands-on experience in configuring workflows, schemes, permissions, and automation rules.
- Proficiency in scripting languages such as Groovy or Python for workflow automation and customization.
- Experience with integrating Jira with other Atlassian products (Confluence, Bitbucket) and third-party tools using REST APIs and webhooks.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail, with the ability to analyze complex issues and implement effective solutions.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with stakeholders from various departments and levels of the organization.
- Atlassian certifications such as Jira Administrator, Jira Project Administrator, or Atlassian Certified Professional (ACP) are a plus.
